With Age On His Side Is Vargas Set To Make This His Division ??

We All Know Of The Problems He Has Faced In The Past Trying To Loose Weight And Stay At A Level He Felt Comfortable.

How Much Of An Impression Will He Make On The Middleweight Ranks ??? And With The Likes Of Trinidad De La Hoya And Hopkins Is He Jumping Into Something He Will Not Be Able To Compete Against For A While

There Are A Lot Of Exciting Possible Fights At Middleweight To Look Forward To Now, With People Like Hopkins, De La Hoya, Tito, vargas, eastman And Taylor

Lets Hope That Money Doesnt Get In The Way And We Get To See These Fighters Fighting

Age may be on his side but age isn't everything. The motor has quite a few miles and two head-on collisions on it.

I'd love to see Tito ruin his punk ass again.

Only chance he has is that Hopkins, DLH , and Tito retire soon so he can fight his way through an anorexic division.

Are You Not A Fan Of Vargas Lol...... I Do Suppose He Does Have A Lot Of Fights Already Endured For His Age

I Think That He May Be Able To Handle De La Hoya At This Limit Though, Do You Lot Not Agree

Well, I am not so sure. Is Vargas' back still giving him trouble? He couldn't beat Oscar all jacked up on the juice, so I gather he couldn't beat him now.

Exciting fights ahead, maybe, but don't put too much hope. He might crash head-on again against the 2 previous roadblocks. ;)

I like the prospect of a Vargas-Mayorga (he'll make a comeback) though.

A Fight With Mayorga Would Be Interesting, Love To See That, And Yes I Agree He Will Make A Comeback

He'd Probably Be Better Coming Back A Weight Division Below Or Two Maybe, His Punch Is Not As Effective At Middleweight, And That Is One Of The Things He Relies On

I Fancy The Prospect Of A Vargas De La Hoya Re Match
How Do You Lot Think That Would Go

I agree a weight division back should serve him well. Oscar wins again, he'll box him again and TKO him in the later rounds. Simply the better skilled and experienced fighter.

Vargas-Mayorga! :D

im not a big fan of vargas, and hes one of the worst examples of a boxer who likes to play hard outside of the ring and get his ass kicked in the ring, the way he disrespected de la hoya like he did solidified my dislike for him, i like guys who talk ****, but when you dont back up it, and never have backed it up, whats the point?

hahahaha LOL :D Point taken bro.

So you're not an RJJr. fan either, are you? B-Hop and JToney perhaps.

Fighters have to make some noise too man...get attention. market themselves.

i said i like fighters when they can talk their **** and back it up, all the fighters you mentioned have done something to get their ego up and their mouth running, at least those guys have had credible championship runs, and have the skills and records to back it up. I like people who run their mouths, but at the same time, you have to have something to show for it, all that showboating doesnt mean **** when youve got nothing to show in the first place, his two biggest fights, he got beat the **** down, in pathetic fashion, that didint happen to RJJ until way later in his career, so im not concerned with him. Toney and B-Hop did what they were supposed to do and at the least have beaten credible fighters, vargas has yet to win a big money/big title fight.

Yeah, but guys don't have to be obnoxious *******s like Muhammad Ali either. You can make noise with your fists, not just your mouth. I'm sure Evander Holyfield didn't get well-known because of his world-class **** talking skills.

i dont think anyone was saying anything about boxers who are loud mouthed, as long as they can back it up

if i were to start saying now that i would kick everyones arse in the middleweight division i would sound like an idiot, if nard said it, it wouldnt sound stupid, because its correct

if you can walk the walk, then its acceptable to talk the talk aswell

if you cant, then shut up !!!!!!!

The middleweight division is where it is AT!

Screw the HW division. There are going to be some great fights in the future. This is what boxing has been waiting for. Never has a division this pumped since the late seventies and early eighties. Awesome!

Vargus should stay at 154 for a while. He has to prove that he can get in shape in order to convince me that he isn't damaged goods. He should not go down to 147 considering the last fight he had at 147 was in 1998, thats asking a bit much. Going up tp 160 is a sure sign that he is not in the kind of shape he should be in. The point has been brought up that he is still young, but he can't make his normal weight? Doesn't sound too promising. Add the back problems and it gets bleak for Vargus.

With that said.....I would like him to get well and fight well. Love him or hate him, he was great to watch, but I'm sceptical. :(

Vargas is damaged goods.
I can see him getting KO'd in anyone of his fights in the future.

His confidence & chin (related in a way) are nothing like they were, pre-Trinidad.
The snap & sharpness is gone from his punches.....& he just looks like he's TRUDGING around the ring far more than he ever did.

As for the roids....Steroids HURT a fighter. Fighters should be LOOSE, not tight.
Vargas looked TIGHT (bad way) against DeLaHoya. He did not look stronger, more powerful, & certainly not more explosive.

He's doomed.
