Sin City 02-03-2007, 03:16 PM Alright dude I saw the gif. Images thanks! I appreciate it!
Trick 02-03-2007, 05:09 PM those incline situps will help that area of the chest.
Also, whenever people bring up the whole training thing, the answer:
the heavy bag
The heavy bag helps work nearly every muscle you need, at least for punching, and as long as you practise proper form and movment around it, it will make a great work out. Personally, I go at least 6 rounds on it every day, at least.
platinummatt! 02-12-2007, 11:37 AM They're called the obliques.
Trick 02-12-2007, 12:59 PM lateral planks are good for toning the obliques. I personally also have trouble finding specific exercises to isolate them, and develop strength/power.
dario 02-12-2007, 03:45 PM incline bench for upper chest..

t-k-o 02-12-2007, 04:10 PM i have been doing those dumbell side bends for about a week or so after reading this thread, and i can see a big difference in the fat % of that area, i also feel much stronger around the waist. thanks for the advice leff.
fitz1888 02-12-2007, 06:03 PM A follow up question here. I heard that doing dumbbell side bends builts muscle in the area that is usless and (not sure about this part) never goes away. Anyone have any info on this?
Thanks

i'm not sure about that, but logically thinking, they help cut out your "love handles" if u have them, and they are probobally pretty good for boxers, since it would tighten up those muscles so you can take more body shots. but thats just my opinion, i could be wrong.

i dont see have they can be useless.
fitz1888 02-13-2007, 12:57 PM Btw i should have mentioned, when i say useless i mean is it useless have big muscles there. I can see the point in having muscles there but not big ones, if u know what i mean.

You can't make those muscles big. They're like sheaths of muscle over your organs. The obliques shield your kidneys and liver against hooks, and help you slip, weave, throw uppercuts and close hooks, and you'll need 'em to break clinches. They don't get big, and all muscle goes away if you don't use it. Work 'em.
moy22487 02-13-2007, 10:16 PM I'm not to sure but swimming might help ya out. Just try diffrent strokes and see what makes you feel the burn on those muscles.
