View Full Version : UFC 67 results discussion thread the giant one 02-03-2007, 02:42 PM Lets talk about results in here as they come in tonight 75th 02-03-2007, 08:43 PM Myself and a few others just ordered it in our barracks media room, I'll post how the fight unfolded, and the outcome. BTW it's going to be a trip watching fights live at a 11 O'clock this morning. $ LegenD $ 02-03-2007, 09:26 PM i would really appreciate that im sick as hell so im staying put at home.....man i hope rampage puts on a show.......... 75th 02-03-2007, 09:32 PM i would really appreciate that im sick as hell so im staying put at home.....man i hope rampage puts on a show.......... Consider it done. BTW for some reason, I think Eastman will win. $ LegenD $ 02-03-2007, 09:40 PM oh ok so your saying rampage will get beat on his debut in the ufc....could happen....i believe rampage 1st loss of his career was to this guy eastman....should be a good one while it last......... RwK 02-03-2007, 09:43 PM The "Beastman" won't beat Rampage. Fights start in about 80 minutes, they're showing the replay of Jackson/Lidell. I'm just looking forward to the Crocop fight more than anything. Haven't seen him fight in a while since he beat Barnett in the open weight finals. 75th 02-03-2007, 09:46 PM The "Beastman" won't beat Rampage. Fights start in about 80 minutes, they're showing the replay of Jackson/Lidell. I'm just looking forward to the Crocop fight more than anything. Haven't seen him fight in a while since he beat Barnett in the open weight finals. Rampage hasn't had a impressive showing in his last 4-5 fights, and he didn't really win that figth with Lindland. I think Eastman is the more hungry of the 2, and I feel he could upset Rampage. Would I bet on it? NO. Is there a chance? Yes. I give him a 30% chance of pulling it off. RwK 02-03-2007, 09:49 PM Rampage hasn't had a impressive showing in his last 4-5 fights, and he didn't really win that figth with Lindland. I think Eastman is the more hungry of the 2, and I feel he could upset Rampage. Would I bet on it? NO. Is there a chance? Yes. I give him a 30% chance of pulling it off. Of course there's a damn chance. But Rampage is strong as hell, making his UFC debut. I think the pride fighters will show why they're simply superior. 75th 02-03-2007, 09:53 PM Of course there's a damn chance. But Rampage is strong as hell, making his UFC debut. I think the pride fighters will show why they're simply superior. I think you're misunderstanding me. There is a chance of anything happening in a fight, especially a mma one. I'm saying there is a fair chance that Marvin pulls it off. Rampage's best is behind him, that is clear, he isn't the same fighter of 2 years ago. BTW RKW, don't turn this into a Pride vs. UFC thread like so many *******s in this fourm try to do. $ LegenD $ 02-03-2007, 09:55 PM I think you're misunderstanding me. There is a chance of anything happening in a fight, especially a mma one. I'm saying there is a fair chance that Marvin pulls it off. Rampage's best is behind him, that is clear, he isn't the same fighter of 2 years ago. BTW RKW, don't turn this into a Pride vs. UFC thread like so many *******s in this fourm try to do. exactly....get that pride shiat out of here....rampage,cro-cop, silva and trust me many more know where the comp and money is........ the giant one 02-03-2007, 09:58 PM there is nothing wrong with PRIDE. They have great fighters. But lets keep the comparison **** for a different thread.. I can post prelim results for those who want it as we go along as those bouts are underway the giant one 02-03-2007, 09:59 PM And i think Rampage stops Eastman in round 2 personally. Marvin is gonna get slammed at some point 75th 02-03-2007, 10:02 PM I've seen every Pride event except for 2 of them, so I can say that they used to have a huge advantage over the talent pool, but the difference isn't what it once was. The gap will continue to decrease and the UFC will eventually take over as the top MMA org since Zuffa has decided to be competitive with their contracts and going after the top free agent fighters out there. In a year, the difference will be minimal if not equal, especially if Pride doesn't quit with all of the non title matches, and the worthless rematches like Shogun/Overeem 2. the giant one 02-03-2007, 10:06 PM Dustin Hazelett beat Diego Saravia via UD. LYOTO against Hoger going on now $ LegenD $ 02-03-2007, 10:10 PM sam hoger?....i hate that dude........ the giant one 02-03-2007, 10:13 PM sam hoger?....i hate that dude........ I'll put 3000 on Eastman, against somebodies' 5000 on Rampage or something along those lines. Who wants some easy points? the giant one 02-03-2007, 10:18 PM your 2 k on eastman against my 3k for rampage. that work? 75th 02-03-2007, 10:19 PM your 2 k on eastman against my 3k for rampage. that work? Done and done. $ LegenD $ 02-03-2007, 10:35 PM damn i dont even have that many points but ill bet u 3k..... RwK 02-03-2007, 10:42 PM Figured nothing ventured, nothing gained. I'll put 3000 on Eastman, against somebodies' 5000 on Rampage or something along those lines. Who wants some easy points? I'll go for that deal..... My 5k against your 3k the giant one 02-03-2007, 10:42 PM Frank Edgar beat Tyson Griffin via UD. Thats considered an upset of sorts as Griffin is a hot prospect 75th 02-03-2007, 10:42 PM Done RWK........ RwK 02-03-2007, 10:44 PM Done RWK........ Adamek v.s. Dawson is about to start on Showtime, good fight. I think the UFC events start in T-30. 75th 02-03-2007, 10:44 PM Frank Edgar beat Tyson Griffin via UD. Thats considered an upset of sorts as Griffin is a hot prospect I wish I was getting the prelims, but the American Force network only carries the actual card. Never seen Edgar fight, was he impressive? the giant one 02-03-2007, 10:57 PM i didnt see it. just getting results from elsewhere. Terry Martin KO'd Jorge Rivera in 14 seconds. This KO was apparently like Rizzo/Zentzsov from PRIDE 75th 02-03-2007, 10:58 PM i didnt see it. just getting results from elsewhere. Terry Martin KO'd Jorge Rivera in 14 seconds. This KO was apparently like Rizzo/Zentzsov from PRIDE Awesome, can't wait to download them. brownpimp88 02-03-2007, 11:10 PM Vladimir Matyushenko won his fight in the IFL with a sick ass armbar. Pride or ufc should try and go after this guy, he would shake things up at 205. This guy is a wicked wrestler with good submission grappling abilites. the giant one 02-03-2007, 11:10 PM Id think Wlad would go to the UFC again. He left there on good terms brownpimp88 02-03-2007, 11:15 PM Well they proly felt sorry for arlovski ****ing his face up. Either way, he never belonged at heavyweight. He will make an impact at 205 though. RwK 02-03-2007, 11:16 PM McCarthy was patting Cote down....what for? Was he checking him for weapons or some type of extra protection or what? $ LegenD $ 02-03-2007, 11:36 PM any updates? 75th 02-03-2007, 11:38 PM Cote was fairly dominant in this fight. The first rd. was fairly even, but Cote got a nice take down, along with some nice flurries and ring control. So I gave him the first. Cote rocked Smith in the 2nd. Smith looked like he was on his way down, but Cote didn't do anything, and let Smith off the hook. Smith came out with a nice flurry and ended up rocking Cote later in the rd, Cote came back with a flurry and they clinched. Cote threw his own flurry and rocked Smith again. Cote wins UD. mic573 02-03-2007, 11:43 PM Cote and Smith fought a little too friendly for my taste. Cote should of jumped on Smith when he had him hurt. $ LegenD $ 02-03-2007, 11:44 PM cote is good..........not great but good..... 75th 02-03-2007, 11:47 PM Cote and Smith fought a little too friendly for my taste. Cote should of jumped on Smith when he had him hurt. Like Cote said, I feel Smith's fight with "Drago" played a big part in why he was hesitant to rush in. I still feel no matter what Smith said at the end of their fight, I think he was playing possom to a degree with Drago and it lured him in. Cote thought of that fight, and wasn't sure of what to do, after all he isn't world class in anything, and he wanted his first victory in the Octagon. I could see how you say that they fought too friendly as I do agree. Eastman vs. Jackson is coming up right now..... details in a few. $ LegenD $ 02-03-2007, 11:52 PM come on RAMPAGE!!!!!! 75th 02-03-2007, 11:52 PM come on RAMPAGE!!!!!! sssssshhhhhhhh. The only reason I want him to win is cause I want my boy Chuck to get a rematch. $ LegenD $ 02-03-2007, 11:54 PM sssssshhhhhhhh. The only reason I want him to win is cause I want my boy Chuck to get a rematch. ah dude......when that fight get's signed im with RAMPAGE all the damn way....any bet ill take it.... $ LegenD $ 02-04-2007, 12:00 AM how was his entrance??...i bet he got it crunk....wrrfffff....wwwrrrrfffffffff.! the giant one 02-04-2007, 12:00 AM rampage seemd to be warmign up at the end of round 1. Good exchange to end it after a slow start the giant one 02-04-2007, 12:05 AM NIGHT NIGHT MARVIN! RAMPAGE BY TKO round 2 75th 02-04-2007, 12:05 AM It's fairly even through midway of the first, but Rampage had Eastman hurt towards the end, but Eastman regained composure. Eastman lands some nice elbows through the first of the 2nd, then they clinch and Page throws a number of nice uppercuts that end up putting Eastman down for the count in the 2nd. I'll those I bet, tomorrow after my Superbowl bet needs to be paid out, if thats cool? 75th 02-04-2007, 12:06 AM ah dude......when that fight get's signed im with RAMPAGE all the damn way....any bet ill take it.... I'm only betting money on that fight. BTW Rampage just said he is wanting to party with Liddell tonight and Chuck was into it. Gotta love it. Can't wait till I finish my military career so I can switch from boxing to mma and compete pro. $ LegenD $ 02-04-2007, 12:06 AM Ooohhhh Yyyeeaaahhh!!!! Bring On Liddell............ $ LegenD $ 02-04-2007, 12:07 AM I'm only betting money on that fight. fine with me........rampage tko liddell 1st rd!!! the giant one 02-04-2007, 12:08 AM Rampage is a funny mother****er. Black on Black crime. Classic 75th 02-04-2007, 12:12 AM Ooohhhh Yyyeeaaahhh!!!! Bring On Liddell............ Chuck is going to do to him, what Page did to him in the end of their first fight. mic573 02-04-2007, 12:13 AM Rampage is a funny mother****er. Black on Black crime. Classic That was funny as hell. He said "I love Marvin Eastman but it was time for black on black crime". He needs about one more time before fighting Liddell. There was more then nerves that made Rampage look a little awkward. the giant one 02-04-2007, 12:20 AM That was bull****. Huerta won with a damn illegal knee and that put him out. kind of looks like he got him in the shouler on second look 75th 02-04-2007, 12:20 AM Huerta vs. Helverson is a KO in 19 secs in the first. Huerta goes for the takedown, and on the ground Huerta threw a illegal knee to the head/could've been the shoulder area possiblely and then threw a flurry against Helverson. The fight got stopped. Helverson never got to recover from the blow it seems, and Huerta gained from it. I like Huerta, but I think it's bull**** how it happened. 75th 02-04-2007, 12:22 AM fine with me........rampage tko liddell 1st rd!!! I'm sorry bro, but you need to watch more Liddell fights, and you need to watch more Rampage fighters. No way in hell the fight ends in the 1st unless Chuck catches Page, as that is how their styles will play out, not the other way around. the giant one 02-04-2007, 12:23 AM time for Mirko 75th 02-04-2007, 12:27 AM time for Mirko HELL ****ING YES IT IS I've been pounding South Korea alcohol, in order to catch a buzz for this match. Life is good. the giant one 02-04-2007, 12:29 AM ****ign Sanchez coming out to Daddy Yankee. LOL mic573 02-04-2007, 12:32 AM Cro Cop is coming out to the PRIDE intro music. I find that kind of strange that the UFC would even allow that. the giant one 02-04-2007, 12:32 AM Mirko comes out to the PRIDE theme. WTF the giant one 02-04-2007, 12:40 AM Cro Cop wins via TKO rd 1 75th 02-04-2007, 12:42 AM Cro Cop throws a handful of flurries throughout the first rd, but it does nothing as does Sanchez's answering flurries. Cro Cop stalks Sanchez throughout the first rd until he catches Sanchez with a head kick that glances off him and then hits him with a punch at like 2 mins of the 1st. he then flurries and beats Sanchez in the first. THE REAL NINJA 02-04-2007, 12:42 AM I can't wait to see him beat down Arlovski. brownpimp88 02-04-2007, 12:44 AM Cro Cop vs tim sylvia will be the big fight, hopefully dana makes it happen next. the giant one 02-04-2007, 12:45 AM Cro Cop vs tim sylvia will be the big fight, hopefully dana makes it happen next. mirko is gonna get one more bout in before his shot. And whose to say Couture cant beat Sylvia? Memorex 02-04-2007, 12:47 AM Mirko is going to run thru the UFC. I can't wait till Cro Cop kicks off Tim's ugly deformed head right off of ugly flabby body. mic573 02-04-2007, 12:48 AM Cro Cop showed about 1/10 of what he can do tonight. Sanchez talked **** and then ran. Memorex 02-04-2007, 12:48 AM I can't wait to see him beat down Arlovski. Arlovski is the only fighter I see that could beat Mirko. With Arlovski's power there's always a chance. 75th 02-04-2007, 12:51 AM mirko is gonna get one more bout in before his shot. And whose to say Couture cant beat Sylvia? As much as I'd like to see Randy beat Time, I hate to think of Randy vs. Cro Cop because of the potential damage that could happen to Randy. With that said, the MAIN EVENT is coming out. THE REAL NINJA 02-04-2007, 12:51 AM Arlovski is the only fighter I see that could beat Mirko. With Arlovski's power there's always a chance. Yeah he's a lot better all around then Sylv is. I don't like either one but I really reaLLY don't like Arlo and want to see someone shut him up . Memorex 02-04-2007, 12:52 AM I can't wait for UFC 69 it's coming to Houston and I'm going! the giant one 02-04-2007, 12:53 AM **** Yeah! Silva Coming Out To The Ol School Redman! Thats Ass Beatin Music There 75th 02-04-2007, 12:55 AM Yeah he's a lot better all around then Sylv is. I don't like either one but I really reaLLY don't like Arlo and want to see someone shut him up . Arlovski doesn't talk ****. What are you talking about? Also, Memorex, I'm getting back from my tour of Afghanistan in late March and I'm going to 69. Good to stay in Houston, huh? Memorex 02-04-2007, 12:59 AM Arlovski doesn't talk ****. What are you talking about? Also, Memorex, I'm getting back from my tour of Afghanistan in late March and I'm going to 69. Good to stay in Houston, huh? Hell yea man! I can't wait, maybe I'll see you there bro. THE REAL NINJA 02-04-2007, 12:59 AM Arlovski doesn't talk ****. What are you talking about? Also, Memorex, I'm getting back from my tour of Afghanistan in late March and I'm going to 69. Good to stay in Houston, huh? I didn't so much mean that he does but he just seems too damn ****y to me . molly2182 02-04-2007, 12:59 AM who is fighting for ufc 69 Memorex 02-04-2007, 01:04 AM who is fighting for ufc 69 George St Pierre v Matt Serra Diego Sanchez v Josh Koshek The main event will be announced after UFC 68 the giant one 02-04-2007, 01:05 AM What an incredible job by Lutter in round 1 and now Silva has a great triangle on in round 2. Great ground bout. Silva taps him in Rd 2 from strikes from the bottom 75th 02-04-2007, 01:06 AM Silva ends it in the 2nd after a nice job by Lutter throughout. Silva wins by Triangle choke after Silva landed a number of elbows. Lutter took Silva down towards the end of the first, but clearly lost his thought when going for a arm bar that he could've had, he also failed to end it with sloopy ground and pound punches when he had Silva mounted. the giant one 02-04-2007, 01:09 AM lutter ****ed himself by not making weight in the first place 75th 02-04-2007, 01:09 AM Hell yea man! I can't wait, maybe I'll see you there bro. I'll hit you up on pm in a few, and we can meet up in the Toyota center for some beers or some **** before the card starts or whatever. 75th 02-04-2007, 01:10 AM lutter ****ed himself by not making weight in the first place Very true. Lazy people shouldn't be in the fight game in the first place. 75th 02-04-2007, 01:11 AM Edgar vs. Griffin is coming on now, so I guess some other undercard matches will be shown also since it was a title fight........maybe. the giant one 02-04-2007, 01:12 AM nah just this one probably. long fight mic573 02-04-2007, 01:12 AM Silva will be champion for a long time. I don't see anyone at 185 beating him. Maybe if St Pierre moves up. mic573 02-04-2007, 01:14 AM George St Pierre v Matt Serra Diego Sanchez v Josh Koshek The main event will be announced after UFC 68 I'm definitely going to that one. St Pierre is my favorite fighter in the UFC so you know I'm not going to miss that one. 75th 02-04-2007, 01:15 AM nah just this one probably. long fight either way i'm buzzin and not concerned about it. just glad i can see this fight right now. 75th 02-04-2007, 01:37 AM Griffin vs. Edgar was really good fight. I had Griffin up after his last ditch brtual knee bar in the 3rd round, I still don't know how Edgar didn't tap, he'll have knee damage from it. Either way, much respect to the newcomer Edgar. mic573 02-04-2007, 01:40 AM Griffin vs. Edgar was really good fight. I had Griffin up after his last ditch brtual knee bar in the 3rd round, I still don't know how Edgar didn't tap, he'll have knee damage from it. Either way, much respect to the newcomer Edgar. That kneebar was deep and I agree I don't know how Edgar didn't tap from that. 75th 02-04-2007, 01:45 AM That kneebar was deep and I agree I don't know how Edgar didn't tap from that. For sure. Martin vs. Rivera. Rivera throws a nice low kick, Martin shakes it off and keeps circling. Rivera goes for another kick, this time to his mid-section, Martin catches it and counters with a overhand right that sprawls Rivera out cold in 14 secs. He goes on to call out Swick which is laughable as I've seen many of Martin's fights and Swick will **** on him if and when they fight, which they shouldn't. the giant one 02-04-2007, 01:45 AM who blinked during the rivera bout? neils7147933 02-04-2007, 01:53 AM Griffin vs. Edgar was really good fight. I had Griffin up after his last ditch brtual knee bar in the 3rd round, I still don't know how Edgar didn't tap, he'll have knee damage from it. Either way, much respect to the newcomer Edgar. Agreed. Best match of the night... neils7147933 02-04-2007, 01:53 AM who blinked during the rivera bout? LOL - I was outside smoking. They were running a promo when I went to the porch. I came back in and they were like "You missed it..." neils7147933 02-04-2007, 01:55 AM And i think Rampage stops Eastman in round 2 personally. Marvin is gonna get slammed at some point good call... neils7147933 02-04-2007, 01:56 AM Rampage is a funny mother****er. Black on Black crime. Classic We all laughed at that **** too... $ LegenD $ 02-04-2007, 01:59 AM hell yeah houston here i come.......ufc 69 is going to be the ****.....i thought couture vs. big dumbass was the main event but anyhow GSP vs. serra and sanchez vs. kosh are going to be off the chain...im there......... neils7147933 02-04-2007, 02:01 AM hell yeah houston here i come.......ufc 69 is going to be the ****.....i thought couture vs. big dumbass was the main event but anyhow GSP vs. serra and sanchez vs. kosh are going to be off the chain...im there......... How well can people with lesser priced seats see the action? Like the Lutter/Silva fight - can you even tell what's going on when they're on the ground or do you have to depend on a big screen above the cage? 75th 02-04-2007, 02:01 AM hell yeah houston here i come.......ufc 69 is going to be the ****.....i thought couture vs. big dumbass was the main event but anyhow GSP vs. serra and sanchez vs. kosh are going to be off the chain...im there......... From what I've been told, the main even is a co one. Meaning GSP/Sera and another fight yet to be named will be the top. Couture vs. Sylvia will be at UFC 68. Everybody who is going to UFC 69, drop me a line as I'll be flying back from my combat tour late March early April and now is as best time as any to have a few drinks with you ****wads. 75th 02-04-2007, 02:04 AM How well can people with lesser priced seats see the action? Like the Lutter/Silva fight - can you even tell what's going on when they're on the ground or do you have to depend on a big screen above the cage? Most UFC events price the cheapest tickets at around 90 bucks and you can't really make out whats happening in-depth. Those have been much smaller venues though, with bad overall angles and setups. The Toytoa center is set up great though, and I picture any seat, even the nose bleeds having good overall vantage points. mic573 02-04-2007, 02:10 AM Everybody who is going to UFC 69, drop me a line as I'll be flying back from my combat tour late March early April and now is as best time as any to have a few drinks with you ****wads. I will be there without a doubt but I'm no ****wad. 75th 02-04-2007, 02:24 AM I will be there without a doubt but I'm no ****wad. It's a term of affection, trust me. You should hear what I call other people. Atnan 02-04-2007, 11:59 AM ufc 69 is gonna be alright-nothing to scream about....i see couture making me a believer ( not really), i see kos beating diego, and gsp running right thru that fake new yorker serra! i wanna see cro-cop again, along with vera, and finally sherk! |
