This was The Hoff's and Oasis Lad's idea, but I thought I'd bring it to fruition.

When we have enough points (around a million) we will open a bank in the name of all Limey's, were you can borrow points with small rates of interest added on. We will allow the points to be paid back whenever the user can afford it, and there will also be gifts for good customers. :cool:

This will be available to all posters, but Limeys will be priority.

Anyone kind enough to donate points to put towards this grand scheme?

you should have a vote for who will be the treasurer and then have that person create an alt account called the limey bank or something. the treasurer will be the "poster" for that account and take care of the point loans, deposits, etc.

the person will have to be responsible to keep track of everything and online here regularly. maybe get a list of people willing to do it first. then vote.
also, maybe sticky a thread of all bank activity - points being lent and points being repaid/deposited.

the limeys should hold a scheduled private chat in the chat room to discuss the limey bank and how it will work. for example, are loans only for limey lounge members? will all limeys be asked to donate to the bank. will all loans be approved or should there be a vote (by at least 5 limey members) to approve of high point loans, etc. it is a very cool idea, but needs some kinks worked out so the limeys points are all swindled. lol!

Everyone puts in 100k so there is 500k in there. If the interest rate is 10% then the interest gained is 50k. 10k each when divided by the 5 members, however because the interest is cumulative and interest is paid onto interest the fortune earned would be more, surely?

My example was only hypothetical. Whatever the interest rate may be, the fact would still remain that having one bank for 5 accounts could be more profitable than having one bank for one account, no?

I heard Hoff and laddie mention it in Magic's thread and thought it was a great idea so decided to make it happen. That's all.
