Chipper 02-02-2007, 10:58 AM It's at the end of the chapter about hooks.
heihaci 02-03-2007, 04:16 PM Bruce Lee was influenced by that book
he adapted the concepts of the falling step to his Jeet Kune do style
Anyway do modern boxers use these techniques anymore?

Some things are different now, but some are just adapted etc.

TheWolf 09-07-2007, 11:36 PM Thanks for the book. This is going to be a real treat to read.
Salty 09-08-2007, 01:33 AM That sneaker punch looks great for fights in and outside the ring if you ever need it. I'm still trying that falling step for the jab, pretty much the opposite of what i have been taught but it does seem to get some more power for sure.
hemichromis 09-08-2007, 11:14 AM IMHO this is the best book for teaching people how to punch and it dos alot more besides!

I was taught about the falling step forever, I thought everyone already knew it.
What I didnt know was his line of power. I always hit with my front two knuckles to minimize damage to my pinky bone. The aiming with the ring finger was something alot different. Maybe it will improve my accuracy.

mr tricky 01-05-2008, 05:12 PM really really good book,
however i have a question for you , i have been reading for the last 2 hours and dempys says you should step farwud and not turn your fist when you punch as one of his puncjing techniques,
but ive i dont turn my fists wen i puch my trainers will tell me to, but dempsy says ignore theese silly people, i have practiced and it feels good what he says,
i dont know who to belive, ex heavyweight champion, who seems to know loads or my boxing traier and 99 % of the other boxing trianers in the world

lilrip133 01-06-2008, 11:47 AM im going through the book now for the 3rd time, and it's great. i want to get a chance to use that falling step "jolt" and see how it works. the defensive tips are great too, especially for a book that focuses more on becoming a puncher. thanks chipper this was a great post
aspect 01-07-2008, 09:06 AM thnx for the repost guys been dying to have my hands on this one

Detroit101 01-07-2008, 09:21 AM just watched mosley cotto again and saw the sneaker punch by cotto in the 8th round.........
born2bking 01-08-2008, 01:03 AM cheers man, finding the book interesting
skilgannon 01-08-2008, 02:37 AM that falling step jolt seemed to add some damn good power to my right hand but it is weird how he says not to push or turn off the back foot. the thing that bugs me with that technique is that it is hard to use it if I am not set. In other words, I am very stationary with it and hard to use it when moving with the right hand. anyone else has thoughts about this?
The Rela 01-08-2008, 06:47 AM Cheers chipper - much appreciated.
Cleetus 04-07-2008, 12:16 PM Bump
cheers Cleetus
Unanimous 04-07-2008, 12:31 PM Props for this man, I'll be giving it a skim over the next few days.
Only problem though is that if we all have this then the moves aren't gonna be a surprise. Unless you get some fool attempting to mug you that is.
