View Full Version : Hatin 50?
Pretty Boy1 01-23-2007, 09:04 PM Every forum Hip Hop forum I go to people are always hatin on 50 Cent!! His first album was ****in awesome from start to finish. His second album was a bit of a letdown but it did have some decent tracks on it! The soundtrack to'Get rich or die tryin' was good with some bangin tracks. I ain't heard any of his underground albums! But his new album released early this year will hopefully bring back the 50 from his first album! I think a lot of the criticism he takes is unfair and people are just ****tin on him because he became the biggest rap artist in the game!! Whats everyone opinion?
Versastyle 01-23-2007, 09:12 PM i didnt like him when he stepped in the mainstream. i just dont like his style. ppl were all for him with his first album but i was still hating on him cause he talks as he raps,in other words he's just talking now ppl know he sucks. plus he hates on ppl reason why he's heardly on other ppls tracks. what an idiot, why u going to hate on alot of rappers.ahaha
Pretty Boy1 01-23-2007, 09:24 PM Does anyone know where I can hear some of his underground stuff?
Kobe Bryant 01-23-2007, 09:46 PM 50 is cool wit me I bump both of his albums. He 's has a pretty good voice good lyrics in my book. Some poeple dislike him for the love songs I guess.
Greatest_D 01-23-2007, 09:49 PM www.albumbase.com has some of his underground stuff.
Get Rich Or Die Tryin' was a solid album, hell it was really good. Then he just fell off almost as bad as Mobb Deep when he released that nonsense called The Massacre(Candy Shop? WTF?).
But what pisses me off most about him is that he talked about Ja Rule doing pop-rap singalongs, then turns around and does the same thing. Plus he unnecessarily disses other rappers. It gets old real quick.
Kobe Bryant 01-23-2007, 10:02 PM Yeah his first album is off the charts. He really got at Ja with Backdown I can't front. But I could see how people don't like him. He basically dissed Fat Joe because he only sold like 200,000. You could tell he was pissed at Joe when he dissed him at the MTV awards.

Well he takes shots at alot of people. Ofourse there is also the fact that he can't rap but that dosen't matter anymore in the modern rap scene.
sisforshaq 01-23-2007, 11:19 PM Get Rich was awsome.

i was lookin for when he dissed fat joe but u just threw out a video. good trick to let my virgin ears hear that:nonono:
neils7147933 01-23-2007, 11:41 PM It's certainly trendy to put down 50 Cent, but that doesn't mean it's completely unwarranted. He gets much of the criticism for the ****ty state of rap, though, as he is one of the most prominent rappers out now...
MOREBASS 01-24-2007, 12:32 AM Get Rich Or Die Trying was one of the most sinister, grimey first albums of our generation, and that album was nothing short of a classic. 50 came into the game as the quintessential underdog, practically an overnight success, of whom nobody had ever heard of.
Now, after GRODT was released, it was a street classic, a great album, straight fire. Everyone was knockin it...he went from being a nobody, to being the biggest rap star on the planet, basically overnight.
And the way most things are, people build you up only to bring you down, which is how the whole surge of anti-50/G-Unit campaigns got started. So once he got to the top, naturally, the only way to go is down.
Kobe Bryant 01-24-2007, 01:14 AM Basically when his new album comes out everybody will be bumping it if it is proper. I don't think he is a horrible rapper though. I can't deny that he has a good ability to make a good hook as well. My favorite joint by him is probably Many Men.

Yeah he came out and said that when Fat Joe said something like "I feel really protected with the protection provided by 50 cent" somethin like that but that **** ruined his whole performance he was pissed.
jspivey 01-24-2007, 03:35 AM Get Rich or Die Tryin' is a classic album. Probably the most anticipated in our gen. The punchlines were incredible, production was amazing, and his rhymes were nice("Man these ***** *****s puttin' money on my head, Go' on get ya refund muthaf***a I ain't dead.) After that WTF? The G-Unit album had a few good songs thanks to buck and Banks. But 50 sang on the whole album. The same citeria he downed Ja Rule for he was now using. The Massacre was O.K. He had some nice tracks on that one but no where near the heat og Get Rich... Personally I'd rather listen to Guess Who's Back before anything he's puttin' out now. You can tell that an artist isn't at the top of his/her rap game when they start beefs to sell albums.
Jim_Davis 01-24-2007, 09:44 AM 50 Cent is a hypocrit. When he first come out he was mr 50 I cant be killed with nine bullets drug pusher cent. GROTD was an ill album but then he started making trashy tunes for his 15 year old female fans. And he dropped The Game out of jealousy or stupidity one fo the two. He just seems like someone that has came in and is milking the game for every penny its worth
fasman 01-24-2007, 09:58 AM GRODT was huge!!! but his career began with beefing.. he made all the money he could and became more of a business man trying to get every penny out of rapping: hence Masscare a FLOP!!! then tried to play the beef card again... but most people know his game and stop taking him seriously...
His new album is going to be GARBAGE!!!! where he sings like a sissy and doesnt rap...
Kobe Bryant 01-24-2007, 11:08 AM If I remember his last sold well.
fasman 01-24-2007, 11:20 AM It sold bout 9.8 million worldwide but personally i dont look at the numbers its the quality of the material and the massacre had one good track...
Kobe Bryant 01-24-2007, 12:14 PM It sold bout 9.8 million worldwide but personally i dont look at the numbers its the quality of the material and the massacre had one good track... by flop I thought you meant sales not the quality of the album. But he had a 5 songs that shouldn't have made the album. I like the rest for the most part.
MOREBASS 01-24-2007, 02:01 PM Okay, as far as the difference between GRODT and The Massacre. From the time in between those two albums, 50 went from being a rap star to a pop culture icon. GRODT sold 11 million copies. Now, granted The Massacre did have more radio friendly hits, for a release of that magnitude, you have to have something to keep the cash registers ringing. There is so much money that goes into promotions, distribution, and marketing, that you have to reach out to a wider fanbase, meaning, more simple, catchy, sing-song songs.
And it worked.

And it worked. Yeah it sure did. He made good business decisions by expanding. He has a clothing line, shoe line, his own vitamin water. He really got on his grind. And he just released G-Unit books. Plus he's an actor. I can't hate on him.
*THA FUTURE* 01-24-2007, 03:48 PM The Game Done ****ed 50 Up. No Way Curtis Can Come Back From That Whole G-unot Movement. Game Killed Wit 300 Bars. mic573 01-24-2007, 06:37 PM Everything up to Get Rich Or Die Tryin is bangin. After that his tracks are hit or miss.

I'm Supposed To Die Tonight
Get In My Car
Outta Control
Just A Lil Bit
Those were the only tracks I really liked on The Massacre.

I like both Game albums and am somewhat of a Game fan, I got his dvd to. But 50 comes first in my opinion always! Game disses a wrestler and challenges him to a fight, Triple H is twice the size of Game and would wipe the floor with him in a proper fight! Then he disses a soccer player for no reason!! 50 laughed off Game's disses and DVDS with 'Not Rich, Still Lyin'! 50 has lost his way a bit with The Massacre but will fully recover when 'Before I Self Destruct' hits early this year!! He says it will be more like his first album!
50 to Game in Not Rich Still Lyin -
i seen ya little dvd Nig*a
is that all you got?
i mean newsflash nobody believes you
didnt you say you woke up out the coma 2001?
well your brother says you never were in a coma
didnt you say you were in a gang?
well your brother says you were never in a gang!
Greatest_D 01-25-2007, 04:17 AM Lol@Game's bro snitching on him.
fasman 01-25-2007, 10:54 AM The difference betwwen 50 and game IMO is that 50 lost it after his first album and quality of the final product was very low whereas the game has constantly kept high quality material in both his albums..
I'll be waiting to download 50's new album when it drops but expectations are pretty low....
Jim_Davis 01-25-2007, 11:07 AM The Game done his research on rap before he started rapping. After he woke up out his coma he researched the music and still tries to stay true to it which is more than you can say for 50.
Pretty Boy1 01-25-2007, 11:28 AM Yeah he woke up out that imaginary coma!! His brother said he was never in a coma! Maybe The Game was real tired after getting shot and fell asleep for a couple days and thought he was in a coma!! The Game talks **** most of the time but I will admit both his albums are hot and I like them both!!
Kobe Bryant 01-25-2007, 12:04 PM Not Rich, Still Lyin' was hella disappointing I thoguht he was gonna get at him like how he got at Ja. And I'm not believing anyone. Especially Game's brother who all of a sudden called him fake when they started beefin.
EC_Raider_07 01-25-2007, 07:02 PM I'm not a rap fan, but I jam out to Get Rich or Die Trying. =P
pottle 01-26-2007, 03:13 AM Get Rich or Die Tryin' is a classic album. Probably the most anticipated in our gen. yeah guess whos back was sick and grodt was sick the he just fell off man 50 is fake
MOREBASS 01-26-2007, 11:29 AM ^ Fake, in my opinion, would be someone who talks about things they don't really live. He has done none of that. Hate him or love him, he's never claimed to be anything he wasn't.
