It appears that PRIDE lightweight ace Takanori Gomi may be fighting in the UFC in the near future...

Fight Opinion is reporting that PRIDE Lightweight Champion Takanori Gomi may be on his way to the UFC. Gomi has apparently received the green light from PRIDE which will allow him to fight in the UFC. In doing so he’ll be representing PRIDE unlike Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic who is now a UFC fighter.

This is a very interesting situation. Obviously it opens up the opportunity for a UFC Champ vs. PRIDE Champ match where we'll really be able to gauge where exactly Sherk ranks among the lightweight contestants. Also if Gomi does come over as a PRIDE fighter we may get to see a possible rematch between Gomi and B.J. Penn.

I'm sorry, i like the guy but he can't beat bj penn. Its a horrible matchup, penn is going to slaughter him once again after penn disposes that washed up pulver.

I don't see Gomi beating Penn either. I actually watched the fight again today and Gomi was a mess after that fight.
