View Full Version : Should I Take Them Back Down??
LOLORSKATES 01-12-2007, 11:06 PM Take my gloves back down after hanging them up a couple months ago, I feel nervous facing my coach back again and like everyone else I want the fortunes of success but I don't want to sweat for them. What's your opinion on this?
Scottie2Hottie 01-12-2007, 11:11 PM whyd you hang em up in the first place?

The dedication left me and i'm afraid if I get back into the dedication still won't be there and i'll be wasting my coach's time and I wish to forbid that as to me he is the greatest of men.

Maybe you should start working out again. Do some running and shadow boxing and see how it feels. Then make your decision.

I've kept myself down where my fighting weight is, it's like my body wants back in it but my mind does.

I would say don't come back. If you don't want to work for success, you won't work hard, and you'll end up wasting your time, along with your coach's time.
Animal Squabbs 01-13-2007, 12:12 AM "I got something left down there, you know in the basement." ahahaha Rocky. You sound like a ***** though so dont do it. Were you actually competing professionally or amateur?

Animal Squabbs 01-13-2007, 12:32 AM you dont really want it and you're gonna run into someone like me, whose only dream, and goal in life is to become a boxer and they do whatever it takes to do it.
Unless you man up and take it serious.

Hell to that, because I fight at 140 the tale of the tape is 6'1 in height and a 72' reach. I was 3-1 before I had quit.
Kid Achilles 01-13-2007, 12:55 AM Dude if your life's goal is to be a boxer and your 70 ****ing pounds overweight, you suck at life. Do you live near a McDonalds or something? How do you expect us to believe you train hard when you weigh 270 lbs.
LOL all the power to you man, maybe you can be the next Jared.

all the gyms I went too kept closing down. I can lose it easy, I just was out of the gym for so long. I always wanted to be heavyweight but now I realize that I caan drop all the way down. It is a shame though and I admit that.
Kid Achilles 01-13-2007, 02:31 AM I'm just ripping on you. You're an alright guy, but lose the attitude on the forums unless someone starts with you. Save the aggression for the gym and the ring!
canrus123 01-13-2007, 04:50 PM If you want to win and be good at the sweet science you HAVE to sweat and struggle. There is no way to get around the struggle, some days you might feel good, but there will be days where you'd rather just stay home instead of going to the gym. If you are not willing to push through the bad times you should not box. If you are willing to go through the pain and struggle then go for it.
"Quitters never win. Winners never quit!"
maxorido 01-14-2007, 03:08 AM For you to make a statement like "I want the success but don't want to sweat for it" tells me NO! do not come back. You have to decide if your willing to go through all the hard training and giving it your all each and every time your in the gym. Hell you have to give it your all outside the gym too, waking up and doing road work and keeping your nutrition in check. Doesn't sound like you have the drive to be successfull in boxing. Honestly though man, that kind of attitude keeps you where you are in life, if your content with that then fine- just don't complain or blame anyone else for how your life turned out. If you want more though, then you have to find a path, be it boxing or whatever and work your ass off to make it happen.
