Chipper 01-08-2007, 03:39 AM I'm new around here and you seem to think your king ****. I'd like to know why.
RockyMarcianofan00 01-08-2007, 03:45 AM Why are you buying a warm up jacket?
Also why are you buying a tank...
To be honest you could go to the store and by a sleeveless shirt for cheaper then boxing mags have it listed, and as far as warm up jackets, just wear a hooded sweatshirt...or don't wear any jacket...
I can understand the shoes, I'm not to fimilar with those shoes so sry...and I can understand why you want trunks, I mean normal shorts would do but I can see the attraction to new fighting trunks...
just putting my two sense in...
McAlister 01-08-2007, 03:57 AM To nickman, I dont think im king nothin... However you got that feeling, I have no clue
But as far as the other guy that asked why am I wearing a tank, Im not sure if your familiar with how amateur tournaments work, but you are required to wear a competition approved headgear, trunks, tank, and groan protector
So that's why Im buying the tank, You cant compete without it
And the warm up jacket, Is to wear while in the back hittin the mitts gettting warmed up in... I have a robe but I didnt like working the mitts with the robe on, so this time around Im going with a sleeveless feel... a hoody sweatshirt? lol thats tacky, it seems your talking more about for basic training n what not, If im in the gym of coarse im not going to wear a warm up jacket Lol.. but this is for a tournament
Plus it's easier to slip on and off. in the ring right before the fight my trainer can jus pull it off, but if i had on a hoody sweatshirt.. that could take some time to get off OVER the gloves, you get what im sayin?
RockyMarcianofan00 01-08-2007, 04:05 AM To nickman, I dont think im king nothin... However you got that feeling, I have no clue

It's not good to go into the ring cold, and with the warm up jacket, the trainer can easily just slip it off of me right before the fight start while im in the ring, oppose to me trying to take off an entire sweat suit.
no I'm aware that you need a tank to compete. Most of the people around my area that fight amateur just wear like wife beaters, or under armor, but I'm just saying what I'm thinking... As far as warm up jacket goes I understand the concept its just warm-up jerseys are about 44 bucks, and you probably already have a hooded sweat shirt....
Hey its cool I mean **** like that is cool to have, I'm just saying its good to save money like in case you want to buy something else you may need (ie headgear or something)....but hey if you got the money it might be worth it ya know?
As far as apparel-
I've used these shoes and they were good
http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/titleboxing_1932_29703210
and a friend used these and said they were pretty good-
http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/titleboxing_1932_30116590
But the shoes you picked I don't know anything about...

ohh... I was talking about the hoody being harder to pull off in the ring right before the fight... I get what your saying about the price tho, this **** can be expensive lol, but i dont mind spending it for a nice event.
Those shoes are nice you posted, I ordered the lowtop ones 2 months before the last tournament I did and they kept getting put on back order, so I had given up on trying to get them and canceled my order. They seem like a nice shoe tho
appreciate you postin them up tho, I might order the hightop ones if I cant get any more info on the zab shoes
ooh yeah and I think your right about the under armor thing, I thought you meant why was I buying a top period..lol, Basically I meant Ill be wearing a black top, wether its the one I posted, or a under armor..... all pretty mucuh the same thing I was looking at it that way
RockyMarcianofan00 01-08-2007, 04:14 AM I've seen people wear these in the ring instead of Tanks too

Its not very expensive on Titleboxing.com -> Everlast

fraidycat 01-08-2007, 08:09 PM I wore Converse all-stars, black basketball trunks, and a T-shirt that read:
CUT ME MICK
By the end of the fight, the shirt was fully spattered with blood. It looked cool.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAAHA AAAAAAAAHAHHAHHAHA, DAMN. OWNED!!!!
the first reply and you got grilled, he does though, he thinks he's Roy Jones, with those broke ass Walmart gloves on, bwwaaaahahahahahah
but about the shoes and slipping, I had the cheap Title boxing shoes and one time in the gym my trainer had just showed up and he called me into the ring to work the mits. He trained a few people at a time and while one was hitting th mits the others would move around the ring.
Anyway he calls me in the ring and tells me to start moving around so I start and the cheapass shoes like crumpled and tripped me up and I fell into the ropes. Scared the **** out of this kid that was standing there.

Even if he did say that... A dude can dream can't he? I never heard him mention how great he was in the ring in this thread just that he wanted to look flashy... Nothing wrong with trying to look good. 2 me it sounds like your hating.

who cares..everybody has to have an idol they wanna copy..if you wanna hate him bcuz hes trynna b like roy jones then i guess you better hate versatile since hes trynna b like tyson..aint nothin wrong with copying your fav fighter

I know, I didnt say there was anything wrong with wanting to be like a fighter, I said everybody does that. But to me, he comes off like he thinks he is as skilled as Roy Jones, like him and Jones are equal.
Animal Squabbs 01-10-2007, 03:00 AM Ive kinda emulated Sugar Shane Mosleys style alittle bit, but I'd never be puttin "Sugar Shane clone" and I wouldnt put a video of me using Mosleys exact stance and style and then when someone tells me Im not as good as Mosley is Im not going to argue with them like he did.
In his sparring threads, some of us including me told him he shouldnt use that stance that Roy Jones uses because he isnt as gifted as Jones is, and he was trying to argue with it. I gave him credit at first cause he gets respect for actually doin the **** too, but when people try to give him advice he tried to argue **** act arrogant.
Invest your money on buying a chin. You're going to need it the first time someone lands a straight right on your ****ty excuse for philly shell. :boxing:

Your all wrong, I never once said Im as gifted as Roy... He been boxing since a lil boy, I just started boxing... That's retarded lol... However, since my hand speed is fast (faster than everyone in my gym including the pro fighters, and anyone from the gym can tell you that) Then Yea, Im allowed to box with that stance.... now because some of yall may have seen a clip or 2, and want to jump to the conclusion that "you shouldnt use that stance cuz ur not roy jones" Yeah Ima defend myself... because You dont have to be roy jones to use that stance, a **** load of fighters do... And when ppl tried to give advice, I didnt argrue with them until later down the line when it just got riddiculous. I said give advice that will better the style I have, because giving me advice for a Winky style fighter isnt gonna help much... Noone wanted to do that so.... I guess it is what it is

When you go to the gym... does everyone say "Whassup lil Shane" or when your workin the bag do they say "come on lil shane" ? If not, then No it prolly wouldnt make sense for you to put that in your sig..... With me, when Im in there Im constantly hearin "come on roy jones" or "sup lil roy" so I put they call me RJJ in my sig.... yall flipped that into some kinda huge deal like I think im roy jones lol
personally, Zab Judah is my fav. boxer.. then roy, but Im jus more comfortable fightin with that style
fraidycat 01-10-2007, 10:21 AM ppl have different confidences. like i box similiar to tyson but no way in HELL would i compare myself to tyson. but thats me
I've been told I box similar to a bulldog on rollerskates but I wouldn't ever compare myself to one. :puppy_dog

fraidycat 01-10-2007, 01:43 PM Lol you like bulldogs huh? do you own one?
It has inadvertently become my totem. I wouldn't have thought of boxing as a vision quest, but sure as hell. . . .
McAlister 01-10-2007, 05:48 PM when the only thing he's done is go to WalMart and buy some ****ty Everlast gloves which is ridiculous.
That's all Ive done? walmart huh? yawns...
Since when does walmart sell Title Weighted gloves (I took some of the weights and pulled them down from the wrist part of the glove so you dont reply like "yea right those arent weighted gloves LOL), and Im just dying to know when did walmart start making custom boxing trunks?
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e17/nossurr/Photo_06new.jpg
Smh.. Im sure you should know just as well as anyone else on this site that once you order somethin from a site, they store your info in the system, and send you catalogs so you can order more.... So that would explain the 3 mags thats in the picture as well... Title, Everlast, and Ringside
And the gloves that you keep reffering to as "walmart" gloves... I ordered those from Everlast, maybe yours are from walmart lol I didnt even know they sold BOXING gear, but I guess you would know...
now stop hatin
cyberthugpatrol 01-10-2007, 05:59 PM plenty of mother****ers drinking Haterade.
do your thing McAlister.
BmoreBrawler 01-10-2007, 06:14 PM Yeah, theres like this pack mentality of hating on Mcalister for some reason. Might be a good reason, I dunno.
You just started boxing and you already have some custom made trunks? God damn, McAlister! Do your thang, Roy Jones the 3rd! Think of me when your winning that heavyweight championship belt! (Or when your picking your sorry ass off the canvas)
