In the super fight between Severn & Shamrock, they danced for over 20 min, a couple of overtimes, people booing "boring", what was up with that?

I think Ken talks pretty in depth about this fight in his book. Was this the fight in Michigan?

Gotta be the 2nd worst fight I've ever seen behind Kimo vs Severn. Notice that Severn is in both of em.....

Yeah it was at Cobo in Detroit. Man, the crowd was pumped all night. The night before the Wings won a playoff game 7 in 3 ot's so the city was rocking. that fight took the wind out of the sails of everybody. we were chanting, let's go red wings during the fight. the fight's in the crowd were more exciting than the one in the octagon.

In Shamrocks book he speaks at great length about this, and he seems genuinely embarrassed and apologetic about it.

His version says something about law changes for the fight, such as no closed fist striking on the ground which upset both fighters rhythm a bit. Apparently, one slip up and the show would have been stopped by authorities so all fighters were pretty careful.

Haven't watched the whole show since reading the book, so unsure of how factual this is, but I agree, the fight was a dog
