Well even though I am not boxing anymore I have a question concerning boxing stances. When I did box I fought in the welters at 6'1 with a reach of 71-73, but anyway my coach always told us just to have a basic stance, but with my reach and usually welter's wouldn't be as tall as me I am wondering if it would be possible to sorta have my jab hand dropped while the other boxer is out of range, possibly leading for them to try to come in but with my long jab I can keep them outside as long as I have enough speed, do you think a stance like that would prove effective or am I just wasting my time talking bout it?

hm - I'm not totally sure about the question. ortho vs. ortho paw with the jab and make them come to you and then blast them with the right. Is that what you mean?

Right, i forgot to mention I am orthodox too. against a southpaw I'd probably have to stick with the basics.

Its risky but effective
I'd have to have some good reflexes and a quick jab to be able to do it.

Why'd u quit?
No dedication for it. I actually did okay considering how long I did it for.
