will training in martial arts hinder my boxing training if I plan on doing both seriously?
Im short but I carry alot of weight. In about 7 years I went from 135 to my current 170. The thing is I still carry it pretty much the same. I wanted to know if this is going to hinder my boxing training. Im 5'6''.
Im not planning on going pro. Just taking it serious enough to fight a coupla amateur fights every year, a hobby.

and as far as your weight goes try to lose some bcuz 170 pounds and your 5'6 i dont think dat would b very healthy.

Total weight has much less to do with health than the TYPE of weight. If he's 5'6" 170 and built like say, Jeff Monson (http://www.jeffmonson.com/), then he's probably plenty healthy. If it's all fat, then no it's not healthy. Since the original poster did not indicate his body fat % or some other indicator of how the weight is distributed, it would be wrong to blindly tell him to lose weight.
