I caught up with schilts fight when it was already a decision.schilt wins.




I only remember some of the interesting fights.
****ty fights first.
remember that kaneko guy that used his celebrity status here in jap. that tokoro schooled earlier last year.he fights vs andy olugun from nigeria of k-1.another guy who uses his brothers popularity (bobby olugun the nigerian actor here.who used his influence to fight in mma.with only a month of training in mmaand was foolish enough to fought royce gracie.)well olugun have some decent power displayed and kaneko is just plain ****ty.(I lwant to have an oppurtunity to school and ktfo of this guy) if you guys have a chance to watch this observe how high his shoot is.he havent even polished a good tackle technique(whatever his attempt is coz nothing works on that particular fight.)he is just lucky olugun was just plain scared or just hesitating.looks like olugun had no exp. against grapplers at all.

akebono was submitted by giant silva via kimura.that time I was thinking you idiot roll you ****in` tubby but ofcourse he cant.silva was on the bottom iirc and akebono was on top.ofcourse he cant escape the kimura as the same way royce break his arm via oma plata,coz this big tub of lard cant roll to escape.

ok another ****ty match.bobby olugun against hong man choi.well to give choi a little credit his punching seems to be improving(see choi vs le banner pls.)and ofcourse he have a destructive knee to be scared off.he have a descent body and leg that was able to take punishment unlike sapp.
olugun is developing some good boxing skills yet his grappling hasnt been tested far enough as he was just toyed by royce. ok on the fight.
olugun was just like a rag doll that my daughter used to throw and drag around :D
choi had this easy.it was humiliating and funny to watch.I was hoping someday to see how choi would do on the ground.but olugun is simply easy to toy around for him.:boxing:


ok some goodmatches.

kid yamamoto against a hungarian guy(forgot his name sorry.an olypic medalist iirc)there was a few low blows and kids opp. is very polite to sign sorry to kid.and kid just shrug it off and signals it`s just ok. then hungarian was put on a turtle guard while kid yamamoto was standing on top of head ,north /south position.stoppage by poundage!!! (nah... kid didnt pound like he did against that particular opp.you guys probably know what incident I`m talking about.) he was going easy and looking for the ref. to stop the fight when he observe that his opp. cant defend and fight anymore,showing mercy for his opp. was polite enough earlier.

genki sudo against jackson page.
sudo enters with a king of etchnic native gimmicks this time.similar to floyd vs gatti iirc. page was showing a very destructive poundage,but sudo just shakes it off allowing for a triangle choke.the sad thing is genki sudo announce his retirement after the fight.damn... he didnt even went out with a bang.

ok part 2.

masato vs suzuki .
masato was former middle weight gp champ of k-1 and suzuki a former middle weight champ of japan from boxing.
I saw the results of this fighteven when both my eyes are closed.well suzuki was able to back masato with his punches.but masato abuses the leg kicks and like most boxers end up in kickboxing a tko results of leg kicks by masato.well... suzuki was defending the leg kicks earlier but as most thigh kicks do. it takes a toll in the long run.botha is the only boxer that comes in to my mind that is able to well in k-1.

next royler gracie vs hideo tokoro.
is he the next gracie killer????????????
after a draw from royce last year most fans and observers score a win for tokoro,claiming he was robbed.but tokoro reply he is just contended enough to fight a legend.

well just like the recent lost of gracies. they are relying to much on grappling.this is modern mma now!gracies still rule the grappling world,yet challenge by others as well imho if they are going to step in the mma ring again they gotta improve on striking too.like ryan did.ryan seems to be the future of the gracies only if he will be able to step back in the ring again.

royler escapes a triangle atempt by tokoro then tokoto shifts too arm bar.you will see roylers arm extended.then royler manage to escape.he was even put to a kimura by tokoro.which he also escapes.he only seems to get the upperhand on the final min. of the final round.judges score the bout for tokoro.most notable was strikes made by tokoro.he was able to land a few punches.then royler pushes him to the ropes.tokoro resisting to go down strikes again even doing a jumping knee in the process.he also lands a couple of knees.so end result is tokoro by decision.

you will see royce in the corner obviously pissed by the decision or maybe coz royler didnt do anything that night.except to be a resisting punching bag and just alt. positions on the ground.
the question building up to ones mind now is. is hideo tokoro gonna be the next gracie killer??? I say bring it on and test the kid!!!

the most anticipated match.kazushi sakuraba vs yoshihiro(sorry if I misspell his name) akiyama.

saku entrance: 2 man enters the arena.with his background music.bot6h wearing tiger mask and an orange gi.1 was saku other was a celebrity.

akiyama :140 children was on the stage.all students of akiyama.waiting for him.I was thinking he is going to dance like sudo:D.

royce was the one to pay respect and give them flowers before the match.you can see royce is still pissed about the match earlier by royler.imo they should give giant silva and hong man choi to him for the match was simply a missmatch.and roycewas very angry and ready to fight any one you give him that night.

I was getting hype and excited for the fight.but like the fire on the candles it was extinguished.

they first measure each other.striking first.akiyama seems to have the upperhand.akiyama seems to refuse to go to the ground unlike most of the time he is very cofident to go to the ground.acknowledging sakus superiority on the ground.saku attempts multiple shoots but all where just shove by akiyama.
then saku made a mistake.akiyama shove him to the ropes.then pounds at him sakurabas head was even outside the ropes for quite some time.he was blocking sideways and turtling as akiyama continues to punish him.
some shots are getting through.ref. doesnt seem to stop it even it is clearly that he should have stop it at this point.then saku was able to go to a guard position(not yet a full guard/mount as akiyama is still refusing to go to the ground)akiyama continues to pound.shifting from punching to hammering.then

bell!!!! ref. finally stops it. there is blood on sakurabas swollen face.also blood was either coming from his ears or his ears got cut from lying side ways tring to guard against akiyama earlier.saku stands up sayingbell wa!! nande??dosta? what the? bell? why/what happen?

Agree totally about the gracies... Ryan and ralph both had aggressive stand-up think they would do better in modern day MMA than the rest..

Sudo retired?? how weird is that, thought he had a few years left in him atleast.. Maybe it's just another attention getter??Hype his next fight as "sudo's return" lol.. Saku should have retired, he clearly doesn't have it any longer, I think the beating arona put on him in 2005 clearly showed he was dropping down the ladder..

k-1 next events is for the middle weights again. then for their mma ver. heros ,no commercials yet. there was an mma tourney for heros before. remember the tourney saku backs out ?that was the gp for the light heavy weight champion for heros.which akiyama won.
due to sakuraba backing out coz of the apparent head injuries that he suffered from years of training and fighting.
