I really hope he doesn't stab ufc in the back by joining Elite XC.

Vera is too green for Mirko right now and probably too light. But right now the kid making all the right moves and is winning. He's stand up is decent and his techniques are clean. So far he hasn't been clipped hard, so I wouldn't say that his defense is crap. Right now his defense is doing enough to not get KO'd and win. I say put him against a decent striker, maybe Arlovski. That matchup would be pretty interesting and we'll find out if Vera need more work on the defense department.

LHW what make you think he will get KO'd? I have only seen 4 of Vera's fights and I haven't seen him wobbled. So I can only go on those fights and on those fights his chin wasn't tested so I can't say anything about his chin.

If the ufc gets a couple more decent heavyweights, then ufc should tell him to cut to 205.

vera is a great fighter with great potential to be ranked in the top 10. is he ready for cro cop...no. will he get owned by tim i doubt it. i can actually see him winning that fight. so over all he's a great fighter and a much better fighter than all you "keyboard warriors" in here bashing him

Hes a young guy who has skills and has alot of maturing to do before he takes serious steps up in competition.

It's not the punches in the head. They get injured in training, so you don't know which fighter is going to show up, the one who looked great in his last fight or the guy who hasn't been able to train well. This is a tough sport, even for guys at the highest levels.....

I think dana knows he's over-rated, on the other hand, he shoudl be getting atleast 20G a fight.. it's clear the UFC is tryin to build him up, so they might as well pay him for it..

brandon teaches at my gym and i have had a few words with him a couple times, hes a really down to earth guy that trains hard and is passionate about the sport, i think he is going to grow more as a fighter and become champ.

I think he has a definate chance against Tim Silvia but calling out Chuck Lidell at this stage of his career is suicide.

1) he's had like 3 fights 2) those fights have been in the heavies 3)he should probably be in the 205 class 4)he hasn't lost 5)just that you all are talkin crap on the guy after so few fights shows how good he is.
