 New Years Eve. 2006 a strong year for Hip Hop Lounge...
Neils and Ne-yo fell deeply in love as he proclaimed it to be the Top Album of 2006 (Which defintley is possible)
Escobar and Hova returned to the game. Although I personally wasnt hyped on Hip Hop is Dead, both Mc's realeased nice albums for the 06'.
After 4 years The Clipse finally delivered what we all wanted.. Hell Hath No Fury came out and was a sign to come for Neptunes production going back to what it was and The Clipse as one of the top duo's in Rap.
Rick Ross sprinkled the summer with Miami Beach Dreams and Cocaine fever. The summer will have Ross's name on it for his Miami Nightline sound.
Ghostface told us about his passion for Fish on Hot 97 while dropping 2 albums in one year, something The Ghost isnt known for.
Masta Killa and Method Man also came with albums that tried to catch the ear of Wu Tang fans and non Wu Tang fans alike. Both albums are good if you have been drinking.
T.I. showed his "King" status topping the charts and going platinum early. The south's top album of 2006 with Cash On Delivery close behind.
Detox got a release date, same story no result.
The Roots just proved they are The Roots. Another album, another year. Classic group.
Pharrells hyped In My Mind album sucked, he needs to stick to producing and NERD.
Timbaland took over Pop Music and left Hip Hop behind. Nelly Furtado and Timberlake topped the charts with Timbo behind them.
Lloyd Banks ruined his fan base with one of the worst albums and proved the Apple was Rotten, and he is finito.
The Doctors Advocate was released to nice reviews. Besides some name dropping The Game has came correct again and expanded his fan base. Although Geffen is now his home, he will always have Aftermath Legacy.
Producers Hi-Tek, 9th Wonder, and Just Blaze gave us fresh beats and brightened the sound of Hip Hop.
Papoose lost the hype, and faded until his album drops. Just shows D4L gets more hype than a dope MC.
Shady Re-Up mixtape came out and .... its a mixtape.
Kanye said he is out of music for one year, John Legend came with his first hook on a rap song (Do U Wanna Ride?) and Common will be back for the '07.
The Worst Rap Album this year was Killa Season. I wish the season was true and Dipset all got it.
Jim Jones (Ray Romano as Fix would say) beefed with Jay... That was a huge waste of wax and songs.
Ill sit here have a few drinks, toast to the night, and ponder.. Will I get Devin The Dude's new album in 07?, Will Will.I Am dissapear from site?, Can 9th Wonder please produce an entire Boot Camp and Sean Price album?, Pharaoh Monche please help me I need another album. With Cuban Linx 2 ever come out? And will it matter if it does?.. and for the love of god stop the games and drop Detox, I just want to hear another nice Dre effort.
PS... Please Let D'Angelo drop an LP he has been on 2 hooks in the last 4 months..
