View Full Version : Huge christmas order from Ringside!!!
Animal Squabbs 12-19-2006, 11:49 PM I really want to box professionally and have been in and out of the gym since I was six (19) now. I have been wanting to get serious since forever but I needed a license and now I FINALLY got it.
Anyway, I plan on starting up in January, and I really took advantage of the RIngside Christmas sale. I ordered over $200 hundred dollars worth of stuff.
I got
The IMF Tech Training glove 16 oz lace up
International Training GLove 16 oz lace up
Fight gear Mexican Style head gear
Two pairs of the Ultimate Hand Wraps (one free)
a glove converter
and two pairs of Ringsides Suede and nylon shoes, they are white but real cheap and im gonna use them as my main gym shoes cause they are so cheap and ugly they can soak up all the damage and i wont stress it.
this is probably the biggest order i ever got from ringside.
deh707 12-20-2006, 11:40 AM sweet, so you're really a pro now?
when you get your ringside stuff, tell me the difference between the imf and the international glove
Animal Squabbs 12-20-2006, 01:20 PM no, not yet man.
And I'll let you know on the gloves, I'll try to give a review on them but I probably wont be actually using them in sparring anytime soon.
Ukr_Alex 12-20-2006, 09:56 PM I dont mean to sound like an ass but what can you get for 200$? You got all that, shoes, gloves, headgear and **** for 200$? damn

do you mean he paid too much for all that stuff?
i think he saved some money. ringside's xmas special: get any 2 pairs of their main training gloves for $99. the international training glove alone is $74.99. the IMF tech training glove alone is $79.99.
so he got a good deal, i have a pair of the imf tech training gloves, and they're great, i used them everyday on the heavybag for about 3 months now, they still feel new. very comfortable, the only thing i don't like about them is the striking surface of the imf tech is kind of hard when compared the the usual training glove. so i wouldn't use it for sparring. but i heard the international glove is good for sparring.

I saved alot, if I had gotten them all at their regular price, I would have paid about 260. Sure, I could have used the $200 to get some Grant training gloves and a reyes cup, but this way I get more stuff and I dont want to come off as some idiot wearing high quality brand name when Im only starting out. If I saw some nobody in the gym with Grant and Reyes expensive stuff I would be like "Who the **** does he think he is, dumbass??

****, I got them for sparring so Im using those IMF's regardless. I use Everlast bag gloves for the bag, the good quality ones not the Walmart ones.

no i didnt actually. I have been looking for sparring gloves for awhile and i wanted the international gloves, but John Brown himself said that the IMF gloves are the best so i had a hard time decided but thanks to the sale I'll get both.
Im planning on going to this small almost unknown gym for awhile just to get back into the swing of things, then hop over down the street to the famous Johnny Taccos gym. SO i was planning on saving my best equipment for when I go there, so I probably use the internationals at the small gym and the IMFs at Taccos. I saw Audley Harrison training there awhile ago, I'd love to put these gloves to use against him.

I dont know about that man. I have the Everlast bag gloves,
http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/everlast-worldwide_1928_3082525
and Im not to happy with them. The wrap around closure sucks, when I wear them the velcro tab is sticking like two inches over so I got a big wing on my glove. Also the thumb is bad, it like isolates the thumb straight out and I cant bend it and it is real tight at the base of the thumb that is hurts. I've had to take them off for awhile acouple of times at the gym because it strains the thumb so much.
and their gel glove wraps are complete garbage. DO NOT get them.
Animal Squabbs 12-22-2006, 11:36 PM my bad, I meant a DRIVERS license in the first post, not a BOXING license. sorry.
