The hip-hop channels I listen to play artists like Beyonce, Mary J., Alicia Keys, etc.

If we're only talking rap, I vote for The Roots: Game Theory

If we are including R&B then Ne-Yo is my pick. I think Food and Liquor is the best Hip Hop album put out that I have heard.

Runners Up:

The Shining - J Dilla
Hi Teknology 2 - Hi Tek
Hip Hop is Dead - Nas
Big Bang - Busta
4:21 - Method Man
Cash On Delivery - Ray Cash

I know people only listed 3 but **** those all deserve mentioning. I left out atleast four other really good albums too.

I mean Mr. Me Too and Trill are both fire. Wamp Wamp is good. There might have been another track or two that was good. Other than that nothing I liked. When I say overrated I mean the fact that its getting near perfect reviews everywhere. Havent seen a bad one yet.

Thats because it is an amazing album. Having the Neptunes match a style of production that is perfect for The Clipse is not only hard to do but rare to come upon in todays world of music. The production is out of this world, their rhymes are unmatched this year when it comes to the cleverness and slick style they bring to the album. They have crushed Lord Willin their debut by a mile and just changed the sound of Neptunes productions in the process.

It has to be the roots game theory. They brought it back with real hiphop. Theres only one track on there i dont like.

I agree, I thought most of it was pap. Lord Willin' is one of my favourite albums, but HHNF doesn't eve come close IMO.

Clipse's album is pathetic. Zero bangers. It's all good lyrics and nothing else.

I'll have to go with Food and Liquor. Some of his tracks are very meaningful. Like American Terrorist and He Say She Say. I like Hip Hop is Dead too though.

Thank god, I'm not the only one who thinks this....except...I don't think they crushed Lord Willin.

Both HHNF and Lord Willin are two albums that I can pop in and never skip a track.

The Roots - Game Theory

This has been a 1 horse race for me since this album came out. Others this year have had their moments and such but I think it clearly stands out as the best hiphop album this year.

The runners up would be: Fishscale
Hip Hop Is Dead
The Big Bang
