hey, i thought i'd introduce myself... i recently decided to get into boxing on a spur of the moment decision.. actually breaking up with my girlfriend seemed to give me some motivation, i dunno why really. anyways, my grand dad was an amateur boxer and he won some sort of championship back in the day so that gives me some motivation as well.

i'm 19, 6', 160 lbs with 9% body fat. i don't really have much of a history with combat sports except that i took ti kwan do (sp?) as a little kid and made it to probationary black belt. i played soccer for 12 years and football in high school. i'm in college now and i'm not playing any sports so that's another reason i want to box, i miss doing something athletic and competitive. since i graduated all i've done is just workout in the weight room, but what's the fun in that? not every exciting...

anyways, i'm not really sure where this post is going, but i'm going to the my first boxing instruction tonight. hopefully it'll go well and maybe i can get an amateur career going :D

good luck with the start up. just be sure to take it slow and master the basics.

so last night was pretty fun. basicly one of the trainers showed me some of the basics like my stance, jab, straight right and left hook. can't wait to go back tonight.

I'm going to check out a gym tonight. Hopefully if it goes well I will be joining too. I'm kind of axious to see the age group, as I always assumed many would be younger than me (28).
