View Full Version : Greatest fights of all time?

I was thinking about this, and it's really hard to pick just one. I mean seriously, it all depends on what kind of fight you are into. Hagler-Hearns had steady, consistent explosive action, but it lasted only 3 rounds. Ali-Frazier III had the bad blood, it had the ebb and flow, it had the drama of being more important than just a title, but it ended inconclusively when Frazier stayed on the stool. Dempsey-Firpo, Saad Muhammad-Lopez and Chavez-Rosario all had great action, but lacked the technical skill I like to see on exhibit. My pick would hve to be Pryor-Argeuello I, because it had the stakes, it had the nonstop action, and it had a brutal knockout to top it off. Clay-Liston I is also up there, that was amazing.

I would say Benn-McClellan and Eubank-Watson II, but both are locked away in the back cupboard for obvious reasons.

But Benn-Eubank I, was the ultimate showdown and beginning of the modern era of boxing. Easily the greatest fight in British boxing history, atleast.

Yes

Why the hell is this fight so underrated?

I'm also quite a fan of McGuigan-Cruz and McGuigan-Pedroza...

If you asked plenty of boxing fans what was one of their fave fights ever or what they saw as one of the best fights ever, there ain't too many would name this one. That's my point.
