Sergey Mitchnik, and his partners at the PROFI promotional team, continue to raise fans' interest in the fight game in the city of St. Petesrburg, Russia. Another show takes place on Sep. 19 at the Giant Hall and is said to feature several notable names. Coming back in line are former IBF super flyweight champion Dmitry Kirillov, ex-WBC super featherweight titleholder Vitaliy Tajbert and one-time European super middleweight beltholder Mger Mkrtchian. Opponents for all of them aren't disclosed at this time. It is also to be noted that Tajbert's fight had previously been announced as a part of the May show under the same promotion but it never came into fruition.
Dmitry Kirillov (30-4-1, 10 KOs), 34, came out of almost five years in retirement to stop Alexander Saltykov within four rounds on May 15. Mger Mkrtchyan (23-3, 17 KOs), 36, has been out of the ring for even longer - he hasn't fought since November 2006, when lost his EBU title to David Gogiya. Mkrtchyan had previously stoppage wins over Freeman Barr in his American debut and over Jackson Chanet to become the champion. His only two stoppage losses came off the hands of 1-0 future WBO champion Denis Inkin in his seventh fight, and against reigning WBO king Joe Calzaghe in 2004.
As for Tajbert (23-2, 6 KOs), 31, he fought just thrice since losing his WBC belt to Takahiro Aoh in November 2010. Tajbert will also fight the next Saturday night in the undercard of Ina Menzer's championship defense against Georgian Mikhail Avakian (18-10-3, 7 KOs). Also on the card are heavyweight journeymen Alexander Vasiliev (17-18-2, 8 KOs) and Evgueny Orlov (13-12-1, 9 KOs) and former amateur talent Denis Tsaryuk (3-0, 2 KOs).
