BoxingScene.com has been advised that light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara (23-2, 13KOs) will be stripped of the IBO championship because of his participation in the upcoming fight with former champion Gabriel Campillo (22-5-1, 9KOs) on August 16th at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago.
From what BoxingScene was told, fight between Fonfara and Campillo was never sanctioned by the IBO and the organization never approved Fonfara to take part in a non-title fight.
