Flores: Tomasz Adamek is Capable of Outboxing Pulev

By Luke Furman

Top cruiserweight contender BJ Flores, who also serves as an expert analyst for NBC Sports, gives for two division champion Tomasz Adamek (48-2, 29 KOs) a good shot to defeat undefeated Kubrat Pulev (17-0, 9 KOs), the reigning European champion. Adamek and Pulev will have to face each other in an IBF final eliminator and the winner will get a crack at WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko.

Flores believes Adamek is capable of outboxing Pulev in a similar manner as he did several years ago against the bigger and stronger Chris Arreola. Flores was one of the ringside broadcasters for Adamek's rematch with Steve Cunningham on Saturday night. Like many other experts, Flores scored the fight for Cunningham - 115-113.

"Adamek is going to fight Kubrat Pulev in that IBF eliminator to get Wladimir. With Pulev, he's got a shot [to win] because he can outbox Pulev, but with Cunningham that wasn't the case and Wladimir is a tough fight for anybody," Flores said.
i thought bj flores had better judgment than this. :twak: Pulev can beat adamek with his jab alone. I command adamek's heart and will, but he has never belonged at heavyweight.
this ^^^^^

In the modern era of super HWs, I really don´t understand why any cruiser would move up in weight. Money? It can´t be that different when there´s zero chance of ever getting a major title. Haye came close, but even…

adamek is truly terrible. you can stop with the vitali ruined him because he looked god awful against michael grant and estrada before the vitali fight. he just doesn't have the style for heavyweight. it's like hatton moving up in…

Like someone said before Adamek is a good brawler with strong chin, but against Steve he was looking very faded and teared (after Vitaly beating). Pulev is a good jabber with nice 1-2 combo. He has good conditioning and in…
