CHIAPAS, MEXICO - WBC/WBO bantamweight world champion Fernando Montiel (43-2-2, 33 KOs) stopped Rafael Concepcion (14-5-2, 8 KOs) in three brutal rounds. Montiel punished him in the second round, dropping him twice and then put him down for good in the third.

In the first bout of the evening, lightweight Armando Robles of Mexicali (13-1, 8KOs) won his bout by TKO at 2:58 of the third round over Alejandro Mendez. Bantamweight Juan Kantun (15-1, 12KOs) stopped Paulino Villalobos (27-44, 16KOs) in the seventh round of a scheduled eight.

Ramon Maas (21-0, 13 KOs) won a split decision over Carlos Penalosa (5-11-1, 3 KOs) over four rounds in a super bantamweight contest. Michael Medina (24-2-2, 19 KOs) put away Gilberto Hernandez (14-5, 10 KOs) in the fourth round of a junior middleweight contest.
