| Fernando Montiel Asks WBC For Nishioka Title Shot

By Miguel Rivea Former WBC bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel (44-3-2, 34KOs) has asked WBC President Jose Sulaiman to grant him a shot at the organization's super bantamweight champ Toshiaki Nishioka (38-42, 24KOs). Montiel returns on June 25 in Mexico, as a super bantamweight, after getting stopped in two rounds by Nonito Donaire back in February. Nishioka has no problem going on the road. He came to Mexico in 2009, getting off the floor in round one to stop Jhonny Gonzalez in the third. Montiel would like to face him before the end of the year. Montiel has balls. Nishioka can crack and is the best in the division. He should fight arce but i dont think that will happen they are good friends and train at the same gym i believe. He should fight the other japanese or the african guy. |
