Hot prospect Felix “Diamante” Verdejo will back to the ring on March 23 in Puerto Rico on the new edition of Solo Boxeo Tecate to be broadcast on UniMas (formerly Telefutura) along with world contender Jonathan “Bomba” Gonzalez in a PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) presentation in association with Top Rank.

“After his TKO victory last Saturday, Top Rank wants to keep Verdejo busy and put him on the March 23 show in the great series Solo Boxeo Tecate debut this year in Puerto Rico. But we have another unbeaten and now world contender Bomba Gonzalez in action, maybe in a rematch against Omar Salado after their fight ended in a ‘no contest’ last Saturday”, PRBBP Vice-President Peter Rivera said. “We are working in the venue for this show, but it will be in the metropolitan area”

London 2012 Olympian, Verdejo (3-0, 2 KOs) is going to make his second straight fight in Puerto Rico after his country debut last Saturday with a third round TKO over Jose Santiago. Verdejo is coming of a December, 2012, unanimous decision win over Leonardo Chavez in Las Vegas and a KO victory on January over Tomi Archambault. His next bout is in the junior lightweight division scheduled to four rounds against a rival to be named.

Meanwhile, the WBO Youth flyweight champion and WBO flyweight #12 ranked, Bomba Gonzalez (11-0, 10 KOs) may fight against Omar Salado (23-5-2, 14 KOs) for the WBO Latino flyweight title bout scheduled to 10 rounds or versus other foe. Last Saturday, Gonzalez and Salado met at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon, Puerto Rico where the fight ended in a first round ‘no contest’ after an unintentional right hook hit Salado on the back of his and the Mexican can’t continue the fight.
