Puerto Rican Olympian Felix Verdejo is craving to get revenge on Vasyl Lomachenko in the pro ranks. Lomachenko, 25, beat Verdejo, who is five years younger, with a score of 14-9 in the 2012 Olympics in London. Lomachenko went on to win his second gold medal. Both fighters have since turned pro and signed with Top Rank, although Lomachenko is far more advanced in his career - receiving a world title shot in only his second pro fight, as he takes on WBO featherweight champion Orlando Salido on March 1.

"Lomachenko is our goal in the future," Verdejo said. "It's the fight I want in the future. I want to get rid of this thorn [in my side] and face in the same fashion as when Miguel Cotto fought and beat Mohammed Abdullaev and Kelson Pinto. For that [goal] we are working hard and developing ourselves to get to that point. When I confronted Lomachenko he was already an Olympic champion, he was a man. He had the maturity, he had gone through that stage before and for me it was my first big stage," Verdejo told Carlos Narvaez.

Lol. I jokingly asked Verdejo about Lomachenko in Orlando (Cotto-Rodriguez) if he was going to get paybacks on Lomachenko....he laughed and said in spanish..."we will see". I told him, Cotto got his paypacks on his and you need to get yours. Lol. He said "time will tell". Glad to read an article ...
They just in the same weight class in the last Olympics. It's not like one guy is that much bigger than the other.
Yeah it's because they removed featherweight from the olympics to add in the 3 womens weights (don't know why though when swimming has thousands of even...

Wow, hell of a fight right here. Then again the same can be said about the Salido-Lomachenko bout. Lomachenko is ****ed lol. I don't see him getting past Salido and I believe Verjedo beats him in what should be an incredibly exciting fight.
This fight is a long way off...or it should be. Felix is a nice prospect, but he's got some grooming to go. Vasyl is being brought up too quickly, in my opinion, but he's significantly more advanced than Verdejo.
agree in principle that he is too ripe but you have to...
