WBA International super middleweight champion Fedor Chudinov will collide with undefeated prospect Bobby Gunn Jr. - the son of Bobby Gunn - on February 3 in Sochi, according to what Russian promoter Vladimir Hryunov told RIA Novosti.

This fight will take place as part of the undercard to the semi-final clash in the World Boxing Super Series, between the IBF cruiserweight world champion Murat Gassiev and WBA "regular" cruiserweight champion Yunier Dorticos.

Chudinov, who is a former WBA world champion, in the professional ring has 16 wins with two defeats, while Gunn Jr.has an undefeated record of nine wins with seven knockouts.

According to Hryunov, the contest will push the winner much higher in the WBA rankings.

"Bobby Gunn Jr., who is ranked 12th in the WBA rankings, will fight with Fedor Chudinov, for Fedor this will be a title defense," Hryunov said over the phone.

Chudinov captured the WBA world title when he shocked division veteran Felix Sturm in May 2015. Then he picked up a win over Frank Buglioni in a voluntary defense - in a fight that saw Buglioni lose two points after blasting Chudinov down on his back with a punch that came after the bell sounded to end the sixth round.

A sanctioning body order then sent him in the direction of a rematch with Sturm, and the German boxer won a controversial twelve round majority decision to claim back the WBA belt.

The WBA ordered a trilogy, but Sturm practically walked away from the sport after testing positive for a banned substance in the aftermath of the Chudinov rematch.

Chudinov was then ordered to fight George Groves for the vacant belt in May 2017. But Groves walked away with the belt, after punching his way to a sixth round TKO defeat.

Since then, the Russian boxer has bounced back with two wins - including a decision over undefeated Ryan Ford back in December.
