At the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia: former four time heavyweight world champion Evander Holyfield (43-10-2, 28 KOs) and Sherman Williams (34-11, 19 KOs) fought to a three round no-contest. The fight was going downhill for Evander. He was cut in the second round and then rocked several times in the third. Between the third and the fourth, he told his corner that he was unable to see, and the fight was stopped and ruled a no-contest.

Holyfield is scheduled to face returning veteran Brian Nielsen on March 5 in Denmark.

Heavyweight Kevin Johnson (24-1-1, 10 KOs) was a late sub for an ill Travis Kauffman and won an eight round unanimous decision over Julius Long (15-15, 13 KOs). The score was 79-71 across. Long went down twice in the final round.

Heavyweight Monte Barrett (34-9) fighting for the first time since a last July's draw with David Tua, put in a very unexpected poor performance against journeyman Charles Davis (19-21),  fighting to an eight round majority draw. The scores were 76-76, 76-76 and 77-75 for Barrett.

Middleweight prospect Willie Fortune (10-0, 5 KOs) was able to get through a very tough test and managed to win an eight round split decision over Donatas Bondoravas (10-2-1, 3 KOs). The scores were 77-75 on two cards for Fortune and 77-75 for Bondoravas.

Heavyweight contender Cedric Boswell (32-1, 25 KOs) dropped Dominique Alexander (19-10, 9 KOs) three times before the contest was stopped in the second round.

In a junior welterweight contest, Miguel Gonzalez (13-2, 12 KOs) knocked out Ramon Guevara (9-21-2, 6 KOs) in the third round after three knockdowns were scored.
