Chris Eubank Sr., the father and head trainer of British middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18KOs), is baiting WBC/IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

This past Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, Eubank Jr. busted up and stopped previously undefeated Tom Doran (17-1, 7KOs) in the fourth round. The contest was part of the Anthony Joshua-Dominic Breazeale undercard.

The Golovkin-Eubank fight is being negotiated for a September date in the UK. There are a lot of critics who believe Eubank Sr. is pushing his son a step too far.

"There are many routes to the top. This is a beautiful route. It's a wonderful route. The routes other people have talked about is just another route, but its not my route. We'll clean out that top and then work backwards," Eubank Sr. said. "Everyone is telling that this is the premier guy after Mayweather - I don't believe it."

Eubank Sr. reflected on the way he was dominated in his own pro career back in 1997, when he went up against a young prospect by the name Joe Calzaghe. He says Calzaghe beat him with speed and workrate - and expects Eubank Jr. to beat Golovkin in the same manner.

"I'm looking at Golovkin and I'm looking at Chris Eubank Jr. and I'm saying the math works in Junior's favor. [Eubank Jr.] is a minimum of three [punches] to [Golovkin's] one. When I fought Calzaghe, not that I wasn't a premier fighter before - because I was a premier fighter. How come he beat me every single round? Speed, four [punches] to my one. The calculations here, I'm not guessing. Would you prove this to me Mr. Golovkin. Prove to me that you can beat Junior, because I don't believe it," Eubank Sr. said.
