MMA superstar Conor McGregor wasn’t the only one taking shots at Showtime during the world tour promoting his upcoming bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

UFC president Dana White told MMAJunkie.com he believes Showtime, the pay-per-view carrier for the fight, intentionally cut McGregor’s microphone on the first stop of the four-city tour, which took place last week in Los Angeles.

"It makes sense for them to do us dirty here and there," White said. "It’s all good."

McGregor took matters into his own hands (or mouth) the next day in Toronto repeatedly calling Showtime executive Stephen Espinoza a "f—ing weasel."

White had disagreements with Espinoza and Showtime five years ago. Espinoza was more than willing to stand his ground and defend himself when it came to the incoming accusations, while throwing a subtle shot at White.

"From our perspective, the way he runs press conferences de-emphasizes the fighter, and it emphasizes Dana," Espinoza said. "That’s backwards. I understand that might be great for the UFC brand. But our goal, strategically and philosophically, is to try to place the fighters at the center of the promotion… He’s coming over to this sport and there are some areas that he’s going to have to adapt. And if he’s uncomfortable, then unfortunately, so be it."

The promotional tour ended last Friday in London, and McGregor continued his assault on Espinoza.
