Stephen Espinoza, vice president of Showtime Sports, the highly anticipated junior welterweight collision between Danny Garcia (26-0, 16KOs) and mandatory challenger Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32KOs) is one possible option for the Floyd Mayweather vs Saul "Canelo" Alvarez undercard, headlining a huge Showtime pay-per-view event on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"The last time [Floyd fought], we had a big fight with Abner Mares and Daniel Ponce de Leon [as the co-feature]. We want a strong undercard [for September], not just a good undercard. We will have at least one big fight [on that card]. In May we had Mares with Ponce, and it was a great fight. We want to do another great fight. We are discussing several possibilities and Lucas Matthysse vs. Danny Garcia is one of them," Espinoza said.
