Escobedo on Dib: I Will Return To Mexico With The Title

By Miguel Rivera

Lightweight Eduardo Escobedo (32-3, 23KOs) is confident about the scheduled fight with IBF champion Billy Dib (33-1, 20KOs), taking place on the 7th of March in Tasmania, Australia. Escobedo started training the moment he was advised of a deal by his promoter Hector Garcia of HG Boxing. Escobedo has not been stopped in a single fight since 2004 and lost only one bout since 2007, when he was decisioned in twelve rounds by hard puncher Daniel Ponce De Leon. Escobedo won a final eliminator last July when he knocked out Joksan Hernandez in two rounds.

"I know what kind of fighter he is, and I need to develop a game place to win in his backyard. To those who know me, I say trust me, I will return from Australia as a world champion. I have enough time to achieve an excellent preparation. A few days ago I started sparring and what I need is speed. Dib is a fighter who always moves on his legs, hits and runs, and he must be slowed down. I know it will not be easy, but I will return from Australia with the championship in my grasp," Escobedo said.
Billy Dib's record is padded he only beats bums to make his record look good. Escobedo should knockout Dib if he's fighting in Australia that's the reality. :boxing:
Agree he won't get the nod but should be good enough…
