BoxingScene.com asked WBA 'regular junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara (19-1-2, 12KOs) for his reaction to a recent video interview, where Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (43-1-1, 31KOs) claimed the Cuban boxer was "scared" and "trembling" during their press conference confrontation in March.

Following Canelo's TKO victory over Alfredo Angulo, Lara approached the Mexican star while he was speaking at the dais and publicly challenged him to a match.

"It did bother me a little, but at the time that he approached me - I found that he was scared, trembling. He didn't seem too sure as to what he was doing. I think that they sent him [up there to confront me]. The people asked for this fight and now the moment is here," Canelo said.

Lara took offense to Canelo's comments.

"He's just talking a lot of sh*t. He's full of sh*t. I've proven that I'll fight anybody. Just look at my record, I'm not like Canelo where I get to pick and choose anybody. I've fought anybody who they've put in front of me, so I'm not scared of nothing," Lara said.

They will settle their score on July 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and live on Showtime Pay-Per-View.
Josesito Lopez was hitting Canelo harder than Angulo and Trout.
And Canelo folded him up like a napkin for his efforts. He beat Angulo to a pulp and dropped Trout.

Canelo has a better chance if he gets into Lara's head. It will make Lara more aggressive than he should and take him out of a boxing game plan.

I can't see this being a boring fight. Lara is more safety first, so his part could be kinda boring, but I doubt Canelo's pressure lets him do that. I can see it going either way, especially Canelo getting a gift decision... but if things work out right in the judging Lara should get the UD nod.

Can't wait. Got the week off, my hotel booked and the best seat I've ever got at an MGM fight.
