WBC junior welterweight champion Erik Morales (52-7, 36KOs) still has a certain fight that he wants to complete before retirement. He wants to fight fellow Mexican champion Juan Manuel Marquez (53-6-1, 39KOs).

There were discussing a possible fight at one point in 2011. Instead, Marquez explored his free agent options for a third fight with Manny Pacquiao. And Morales fought Marcos Maidana.

Morales is scheduled to defend his belt against undefeated Danny Garcia (22-0, 14KOs) on March 24th in Houston, Texas. Marquez is being considered for a possible fourth meeting with Pacquiao in June. If Pacquiao doesn't happen, then Marquez has a tentative return being planned for March 17th in Mexico City.

The Mexican fight fans are always asking questions about this fight, says Morales. He wants to give them what they want.

"If Marquez wants to fight with me, I would be very happy to do it. And if we don’t ever fight - it's because he doesn't want to," Morales said.
