At the Monumental Plaza de Toros Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico, Erik Morales (50-6, 35 KOs) stopped Willie Limond (33-3, 8 KOs) in the sixth round of a catch-weight fight at 143-pounds. After a bad start in the first few rounds, Morales came on strong in the second half of the six. During the sixth round, he put Limond down three times with body damage to close the show.

Former WBC junior flyweight champion Edgar Sosa (40-6, 24 KOs) stopped Ryan Bito (18-7-3, 6 KOs) in ten rounds to capture the WBC international flyweight title.

Carlos Zarate Jr proved he's even more than a chip off the block, by impresssively TKO'ing Luis Lopez Chavez in Mexico's Plaza de Toros, Mexico City.

Carlos Jr who's tutored by his pencil slim superstar Dad, has already grown into a musclular Super lightweight. He used his longer reach with a ramrod left jab to set up an array of punches against an outgunned by game Lopez Chavez who tried to attack, but seldom penetrated a capable defence.

Just as Lopez Chavez confidence started to increase, so did the tempo of Carlos Jr's firepower. A flurry of punches drove the smaller man across the ring and it was stopped as he was trapped in a corner, after just one minute two seconds of round three. Carlos's record now improves to 10-0, with seven KO's.
