Erik Morales Still Unsure of Taking Danny Garcia Defense

WBC junior welterweight champion Erik 'El Terrible' Morales may still cancel or postpone his upcoming fight against undefeated Danny Garcia, scheduled for January 28 at the Reliant Arena in Houston. Last weekend Morales had emergency gallbladder surgery in Mexico City. Erik's father and trainer, Jose Morales, is trying to convince his son not to give Garcia any advantages by going forward with the fight. A decision should be made soon.

"On Monday I'll talk to Golden Boy after the doctors tell me how I am. Obviously I do not want to cancel or postpone the fight, but a lot depends on what I'm told by them (doctors)," Erik told Sal Rodriguez.

Erik's coach, feels the operation the days of recovery has already "spoiled the work that we already started."

"Remember that Danny Garcia is the number two [ranked contender] in the world. He's a tough fighter, young, fast - and if you add to that, that my son is not 100%, I think it would be a big mistake [to take the fight]," Jose said.

Postpone the fight Morales, Their will be no backlash we all will understand.

Morales needs to postpone, he should not risk his legendary status by figting under uneven terms.. WAR MORALES!! I want to see a Maidana VS Morales rematch..
