Erik Morales Still Unsure of Taking Danny Garcia Defense

By Miguel Rivera

WBC junior welterweight champion Erik 'El Terrible' Morales may still cancel or postpone his upcoming fight against undefeated Danny Garcia, scheduled for January 28 at the Reliant Arena in Houston. Last weekend Morales had emergency gallbladder surgery in Mexico City. Erik's father and trainer, Jose Morales, is trying to convince his son not to give Garcia any advantages by going forward with the fight. A decision should be made soon.

"On Monday I'll talk to Golden Boy after the doctors tell me how I am. Obviously I do not want to cancel or postpone the fight, but a lot depends on what I'm told by them (doctors)," Erik told Sal Rodriguez.

Erik's coach, feels the operation the days of recovery has already "spoiled the work that we already started."

"Remember that Danny Garcia is the number two [ranked contender] in the world. He's a tough fighter, young, fast - and if you add to that, that my son is not 100%, I think it would be a big mistake [to take the fight]," Jose said.
Mexicans are warriors but still Morales needs to postpone it. Margarito is the supreme example of a warrior. He preferred to lose an eye or die vs Paquiao while Mosley ran like a girl and Cotto surrendered.
:chairshot:chairshot

I was reading up on gallbladder/ gall stone removal surgery, and apparently, there's a procedure that doesn't require any cutting of flesh. The doctors just insert an endoscope (?) through the mouth/stomach/intestine and into the gall bladder, and remove the…
