In a strange twist of fate, former four division world champion Erik Morales will help train welterweight contender Jorge Paez Jr. (37-5-1, 22KOs) for his ring return later in this year.

Morales was scheduled to face Paez on March 22 in Monterrey. He suffered a hand injury as the fight drew close and former champion Vivian Harris stepped in as a late replacement. In a fight most believed would be a mismatch, Harris pulled off a shocking upset with a ten round majority decision. The loss snapped a ten fight win streak.

A few weeks ago, Morales announced his retirement from the sport. He now wants to train fighters and plans to groom the skills of Paez.

Interesting. Morales is helping train Paez Jr and Marquez will be in Estrada's corner in his upcoming fight. It's nice to see 2 Mexican greats begin to transition to the corner work.
