Former four division world champion Erik 'Terrible' Morales feels WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto made a big mistake in selecting Saul "Canelo" Alvarez as his next opponent.

The fight, taking place at a catch-weight of 155-pounds, is scheduled for November 21st at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Morales has a lot of respect for Cotto and says a victory over Canelo will not make him any greater.

Other than the finances, Morales does not see the big picture in Cotto, at this stage of his career, picking such a "very difficult" opponent.

Morales is picking the younger Canelo to beat Cotto.

"At least on paper, Cotto made a mistake because generally speaking he's not going to become greater [by beating Canelo], maybe it's for the money, but it is a very complicated fight," Morales told Fox Deportes.

"It's going to be a tough fight for both, complicated; however, I think that Canelo has the advantage for the type of bout because he has youth and because he can apply a lot of pressure on Cotto, who is the type of fighter who doesn't like pressure. Logic tells us that Canelo should win without problems. Youth is a total factor, Cotto has had many wars and most of the fights where he lost he got very hurt. Canelo is a fighter who has not had many wars, only a hard fight where he lost. He should apply pressure the entire fight."
