Erik Morales Discusses His Last Two Fights, Humberto Soto

Former four division world champion Erik "El Terrible" Morales (52-9, 36KOs) that he plans to return at the end of August in what is going to be the first of his final two career fights. Morales wants to have a tuneup on that date, to figure out how much work he needs to do to prepare for his final fight in Tijuana, likely in October.

"I plan to get in the ring at the end of August in a tune-up fight, because my idea is to see how my body feel after the last fight I had (October 20, 2012). I want to know under what conditions I'm going to be at for my retirement fight in Tijuana. I want to go in there in good condition and that takes time," Morales

"My fight might be held in Cancun, and also Tabasco have invited me to go there - but we are still negotiating the location. I want to fight at no more than 144 pounds," Morales said. "In October I want to say goodbye in Tijuana, with an exciting fight, against a fighter with my characteristics and where I have a chance of winning. I hope that it's a competitive fight for the people, so they can see that I am retiring with dignity."

The final opponent might by former champion Humberto Soto (61-8-2, 35KOs),

"We have to see if the conditions are right. We have discussed the subject and we need to reach a financial settlement, but for me there is no problem [with that fight]," he said. "We could have faced each other in the past, but that fight did not happen. But first I have to see how I feel in the tune-up, because I want to be in the best condition for my last fight."

One of the greats for sure wish he coulda went out on the top or close at least.

a great warrior, who finally, has realized it's time...I wouldn't xpect much 4 opposition in neither fight...
