Bantamweight Eric Morel must fight on August 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada, but his coach and father, Cyril, said if an opportunity arises to challenge Panama's Anselmo Moreno for the WBA bantamweight champion, they will gladly accept it while not ruling out potential fights with Mexico's Jorge 'Travieso' Arce, the WBO super bantamweight king, and Nonito Donaire, who shines with the the WBC and WBO titles at bantamweight.
"We are ready to fight with Moreno. There is nothing more to it than communicating with the Golden Boy Promotions and we'll fight with him. We also want to fight with Arce and move up. And we are ready to fight with Nonito Donaire, the WBC champion. We could fight in August or whenever they want," Cyril said.
Morel is a two-time world champion (super flyweight and bantamweight) with a track record of 44-2 and 22 knockouts and has not lost since 2005 and has eight straight wins at 118 pounds.
"We'll fight with any of the three. Eric is supposed to fight on August 13 but we have no official opponents. Some names are being mentioned but nothing is official. And we are ready to fight any of the champions. We have two months of training and know that we can beat any of those three champions and then fight the winner between Abner Mares and Joseph Agbeko. But I repeat, it seems that they are afraid of Eric," Cyril said.
