Emanuele Della Rosa: I'm Ready To Face Erislandy Lara

By Miguel Rivera

The World Boxing Council advised BoxingScene.com a few days ago that WBC International champion Emanuele Della Rosa (31-1, 8KOs) will be the opponent for Erislandy Lara in a final junior middleweight eliminator. Della Rosa lost in 2009, by split decision, to middleweight Sebastian Zbik.

Della Rosa, who's currently ranked third, is ready to face Lara.

"There is a chance that I could face Lara, who is a great fighter. And I'm ready to face him... or anyone else [in a WBC final eliminator]," stressed Della Rosa.

Lara (17-1-2, 11KOs) faced Vanes Marirosyan in a final eliminator last November. They went to a nine round technical decision draw after Vanes suffered cut above his left eye from an accidental clash of heads. The WBC ordered them to fight again, but Vanes took a pass with no written contract clause for the winner to get a guaranteed shot at WBC champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.
