Eloy Perez To Face Daniel Jiminez, Wants Broner Next

By Ryan Burton

BoxingScene.com had previously reported that undefeated super featherweight prospect Eloy Perez's (20-0-2) ring return would take place on April 15th in California in a defense of his NABO title.

Perez's assistant trainer Sam Garcia advised BoxingScene that Daniel Jimenez of Puerto Rico (20-3-1) will be Perez's opponent and that the bout will take place in San Francisco at the Long Shoreman's Hall.

Team Perez also has an opponent in mind for the fight that will follow the Jimenez fight.  "I read that (Adrien) Broner (20-0) wants to fight Eloy.  I want to let him know that Team Perez wants that fight too. As long as they make us a fair offer then after Jimenez we have no problem fighting Broner."

Broner is coming off a victory over featherweight Daniel Ponce De Leon that took place on March 5th on the Saul Alvarez-Mathew Hatton undercard.

If Jimenez has been active enough, he should be able to beat Perez. Jimenez was a really good fighter when he was in his 20s. Once he lost to Rocky Martinez he kind went downhill from there. I wish him…
