El Paso Results: Lopez, Han, Tapia, Solomon, Korobov Win

El Paso County Coliseum, El Paso, Texas - In a very physical rough fight with plenty of fouls to go around, Alejandro Lopez (24-2, 7KOs) won a very unpopular twelve round unanimous decision over Takalani Ndlovu (33-8, 18KOs) in an IBF super bantamweight final eliminator. The scores were 116-111 (twice) and 117-112.

An accidental clash of heads opened up cuts on both boxers in the fourth. Lopez was hurt in the sixth and lost a point for holding. Lopez had a very good eleventh and Ndlovu's left eye was swollen by the end.

Middleweight Abie Han (18-0, 12 KOs) stopped Arsenio Terrazas (9-3, 8 KOs) in the first.

Super bantamweight Claudia Gutierrez (2-2) dropped Jennifer Han (8-2-1, 1 KO) and won a four round split decision.

Junior middleweight prospect Glen Tapia (16-0, 9KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Dashon Johnson (13-8-3, 4KOs). The scores were 79-73 (twice) & 78-74.

Welterweight contender Brad Solomon (19-0, 7KOs) was dropped twice in the first round and the fight appeared to be on the verge of being stopped, but he survived, regrouped and fought a war with hard-puncher Yoryi Estrella (10-9-2, 7KOs) to win an eight round majority decision. The scores were 77-73 twice and 75-75.

Middleweight prospect Matt Korobov (18-0, 10KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Milton Nunez (24-5-1, 22KOs). All three judges scored it 80-72.

Super bantamweight Tramaine Williams (4-0, 2 KOs) won a four round split decision over Raul Carrillo (1-7, 1 KOs).

Solomon is a very good fighter, but he's also been inactive. It's strange though, it seems like these kinds of scares that happen to prospects always happen against lower level opposition. Like Ward being dropped and hurt by Boone, yet…

Solomon should have stayed retired wonder if TR will give him up to Vargas or keep him in meaningless bouts til his contract is up. Korobov should of stopped this guy but he's been inactive too so at least he…
