Egberime Willing To Replace Spadafora, Face Dulorme
By "Bigtime" Tim Kudgis
This past week, news broke right here on BoxingScene.com that Paul Spadafora rejected the opportunity to face prospect Thomas Dulorme on HBO Latino. Although the reasons weren't clear it was believed to be over a low offer. Recently, I had the chance to sit down with 140lb contender Solomon "Mr. Jones" Egberime, who lost a decision in his last outing to Spadafora. We had the chance to discuss his previous fight with Paul Spadafora, future plans, Thomas Dulorme and more!
TK: Hey "Mr. Jones", we haven't seen you since your decision loss to Paul Spadafora. How has everything been? Any return in sight?
"Mr. Jones": Everything is going great and I'm here spending time with my family n waiting to take on the best 140 pound. It doesn't matter who as when you stay ready you don have get ready. I hope to return August or September.
TK: Recently it was reported that your last opponent Paul Spadafora was going to face Thomas Dulorme on HBO Latino. Rumors are Paul turned it down because the payday was less than 10k. Do you feel that was a smart or bad move business wise?
"Mr. Jones": Fighting on HBO after dark is great way to expose your talent. Boxing is about risk before reward!
TK: Would the fight with Dulorme be something you would jump at even if the money was small?
"Mr. Jones": I would love to take him, the best, and all comers. As I know I have the skills to pay the bills.
TK: What are your thoughts on Dulorme? Many people thought he was a future champ but after one lose they are quick to write him off.
"Mr. Jones": Dulorme is good prospect, he is unique in his own way. Sometimes losing a fight makes you a better fighter when you learn from your mistakes. My style is unique and crowd pleasing.
TK: Would you take a low pay 8-10k for a fight like this on HBO Latino?
"Mr. Jones": Like i said before RISK BEFORE REWARD!
TK: Thank you for taking the time to speak with us.
"Mr. Jones": Nice chatting with you. God bless.
Spady is a small venue club circuit boxer now. He needs to stay there and continue to run his unbeaten record up.Comment by richardt on 07-02-2013

I didn't know that Spadafora is still fighting. Back in 2003, Spadafora was awarded a split draw against Leonard Dorin -- they fought with three world titles on the table. But after that Spadafora never fought for a title again…Post a Comment - View More User Comments (3)
