(TEMECULA, California) - Light heavyweight contender Edwin Rodriguez (26-1, 17KOs) destroyed Derrick Findley (21-14-1, 13KOs) in the first round. Rodriguez dropped Findley twice and the ringside doctor advised referee Pat Russell to stop the contest.
In a walkout bout, middleweight Sergio Mora won a hard-fought eight round unanimous decision over Dashon Johnson.
After a competitive first round, Mora (27-3-2, 9 KOs) dropped Johnson with a left hook to the head. After getting up, Johnson dropped Mora with a combination to the head.
Mora boxed well from the outside, but also did well on the inside. Johnson (16-17-3, 5 KOs) had his moments, throwing and landing lead left hooks to the head.
The pace of the fight slowed down as the bout progressed, Mora continued raining punches from the outside, but an occasional hook or cross kept Mora honest.
All three judges scored the bout in favor of Mora, 80-72, 80-72, and 79-73.
