WBC flyweight mandatory challenger Edgar Sosa (48-7, 29KOs) was shocked that he knocked out Archie Solis so quickly last Saturday night. After losing two close meeting with Solis in 2001 and 2003 - he got revenge by knocking out Solis in two rounds on Saturday night. Sosa expected a much longer match.

Solis blamed his defeat on injuries that he suffered during an alleged street attack at the hands of Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

“I don’t understand why Solis is saying that. He’s a professional and a former world champion. He wants to demean my victory with his excuses, but I can tell him that I suffered a fractured cheekbone, due to a headbutt in the ring, but thanks to good surgery I’m back. I didn’t expect to win this fight that fast. I was positive that I was going to defeat him, but not so early in the fight,” Sosa said.

Sosa is now in line to face WBC flyweight champion Toshiyuki Igarashi.
