This past week on ATG Radio, UK Promoter Eddie Hearn stopped by to accept Carl Froch's "ATG Fighter of the Year" award.  He had the chance to discuss the future plans for IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22KOs) and the possibilities that are on the table for his next battle.

When asked what was in the cards for his fighter, Eddie Hearn had this to say:

"The Christmas period was a busy time for us.  Carl Froch is our priority right now.  We have made the Devon Alexand - Kell Brook fight.  We have made the Gavin Rees - Adrien Broner fight, so Carl Froch is someone we have to get sorted out as soon as possible.

His mandatory is Adonis Stevenson and we are talking to Yvon Michael this week about that opportunity as well.  Obviously he has worked hard to win the IBF title and we do not want it going anywhere.  We may defend against Stevenson in the interim.

Lucian Bute still wants to fight.  We get along very well with his team.  If the fight makes sense for everybody financially and from a career perspective than that is something we can look at.

The burning desire for Carl is the fight with Mikkel Kessler and he wants to avenge that loss.  Stylistically it is such a great fight.  We are speaking to Kalle Sauerland  at the moment seeing if we can get that made.  Really they all have an equal chance of what will happen next.  Probably Kessler because that is the fight the people want to watch.

I know that Andre Ward has spoken a lot lately.  Why don't we give him a call to make the fight?  That we have been calling him out.  We have not been calling him out.  It is a natural fight if Carl can beat someone like Kessler than a rematch with Ward.  Andre Ward is a brilliant fighter and tough to beat but I think the fight would go differently in the UK.  The fans have to believe we deserve that shot and I do believe we can produce a different performance with a different result.

You look at Andre Ward and realistically what are his options right now?  There isn't many.  I understand he has an unfortunate injury and a trying time coming up."
