|
|
By Edward Chaykovsky According to heavyweight contender Eddie Chambers (36-2, 18KOs), Emanuel Steward is now his head trainer. Chambers is scheduled to fight Tony Thompson (36-2, 24KOs) in an IBF eliminator. The fight is likely going to take place on the Andre Ward-Carl Froch super middleweight unification on October 29th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Froch-Ward will be televised by Showtime, but there is no indication if the network plans to televise the heavyweight bout.
Isn't this a 'conflict of interest' in that Stewart is Wlad's main trainer and if Chambers beats Thompson he will be the mandatory challenger?...
That's the first thought that struck me when I saw the headline. How can Steward train two fighters who are likely to fight... |

The faster Eddie Chambers will outbox Tony Thompson and win a clear decision, something like 116-112 on the cards. |

Two top 10 heavyweights fighting each other, and what amounts to the US Title on the line...aside from the fact that Thompson fights like a robot, I don't see a lot not to be excited about as heavyweights go. |
