| Eddie Chambers Brings in Steward For Thompson Bout

By Edward Chaykovsky According to heavyweight contender Eddie Chambers (36-2, 18KOs), Emanuel Steward is now his head trainer. Chambers is scheduled to fight Tony Thompson (36-2, 24KOs) in an IBF eliminator. The fight is likely going to take place on the Andre Ward-Carl Froch super middleweight unification on October 29th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Froch-Ward will be televised by Showtime, but there is no indication if the network plans to televise the heavyweight bout. |
Two top 10 heavyweights fighting each other, and what amounts to the US Title on the line...aside from the fact that Thompson fights like a robot, I don't see a lot not to be excited about as heavyweights go. |
