EBU Pulls Varon From Sergey Rabchenko Title Shot

By Per Ake Persson

Spanish jr. middleweight veteran Ruben Varon, the EBU's mandatory challenger at his weight, has today been voted out by the EBU council following his loss to journeyman Rafael Chiruta this past weekend. That fight was as previously reported fought at middleweight and thus the loss doesn´t remove a fighter automatically from his position at a lower weight.

However, as the EBU points out it was a bad loss against a fighter with a poor recored.

EBU jr middle weightchamp Sergey Rabchenko will now have to fight someone else and also end up as a loser as he would have gotten the lion´s share of the 91,000,00 Euro that Rimer Boxe won the purse bids with.
