Dulorme, Pedraza, Gonzalez, Del Valle: Top Prospect Nods

San Juan, Puerto Rico- The super prospect Thomas Dulorme (13-0, 10KO's), the Olympian Jose "Sniper" Pedraza (5-0, 4KO's), hard-hitting Jonathan "Mantequilla" Gonzalez (14 -0, 13KO's) and the agile Luis Orlandito "Del Valle (14-0, 11KO's) were chosen by ESPN Sports writer Dan Rafael as four of the top 25 prospects in the world.

Dulorme (# 4 WBA & # 8 WBC) had a special distinction within this group, to be chosen as one of the top two prospects in the world and one of the top 12 Latino prospects today. In a video on the ESPN.com website, Dan Rafael said Gary Russell, Jr. was the prospect of the year but Dulorme was mentioned as the great revelation of the year and he also compared his charisma with the eternal Puerto Rican champion Felix "Tito "Trinidad.

"When they called me to mention this yesterday I could not believe it. It's a great honor and thanks to hard work in the gym that I could achieve it. I am very grateful to Gary (Shaw), Lou (DiBella) and Javier (Bustillo) who gave me my first chance in boxing when nobody else believed in me. In 2012 I will work harder to give more glory to my Puerto Rico. I am also a proud member of Team Puerto Rico," said Dulorme.

Dulorme is represented promotionally by Universal Promotions, DiBella Entertainment and Gary Shaw Productions.

Within this elite group of 25 prospects, Jose "Sniper" Pedraza, also had a great distinction as he has had  the least amount of professional fights, but is the one that boxing fans expect the most out of. Pedraza is the one Puerto Rican fighter that the island is watching every day, he has the highest expectations from the Puerto Rican boxing fans since Miguel Cotto made the leap into the professional ranks.

Pedraza said, “What a great honor to be chosen in this group of fighters. This will give me more motivation to achieve more for my beautiful Island. I will continue to work hard every day to fulfill the expectations of the Island and to follow my own dreams”.

 Pedraza is represented by Universal Promotions, DiBella Entertainment and Gary Shaw Productions.

ESPN also identified Jonathan "Mantequilla" Gonzalez (# 7 WBO & # 12 WBC) as one of the top prospects in 2011. "Mantequilla" was part of the Puerto Rican national team and his foray into amateur boxing one of his highlights was winning a silver medal at the Pan American Games in 2007. "Mantequilla," achieved an impressive amateur record of 132-18. ”Mantequilla” is known for his aggressive style and power punching and soon to be fighting the likes of James Kirkland.

"This is a great distinction and I am very grateful for this. This is the result of hard work in the gym and dedication to this great sport. My dream is to become a world champion and follow in the footsteps of the great “Tito” Trinidad and bring back the belts to the island of Puerto Rico, "said Gonzalez.

Gonzalez is represented by Universal Promotions, Warriors Boxing and Gary Shaw Productions.

The great boxer Luis "Orlandito" Del Valle (# 11 WBO & # 6 WBA) also gives a great distinction in this for style boxing and relentless attack on his rivals. Del Valle in his career as an amateur won the national champion in the United States and managed to amass excellent record of 112-14. Del Valle, like Dulorme, Pedraza and Gonzalez has a TV and fan friendly style.

"I'm very happy for this achievement and recognition from ESPN. It is certainly one of the greatest achievements of my career. I owe it all to God and the support of my Puerto Rico. I'm also happy because it is a groupal achievement because this list includes the great majority of the members of Team Puerto Rico, "said Del Valle.

Del Valle is represented promotionally by DiBella Entertainment, and Gary Shaw Productions.

These prospects have been selected in this prestigious group which confirms that Team Puerto Rico and its promoters (GSP, DBE, UP, WB) have signed the best Puerto Rican prospects on the Island. 2012 will be a dream year for these great fighters. Dulorme, Pedraza, Gonzalez and Del Valle is part of the boxing team, Team Puerto Rico. All great prospects. But I think Dulorme will be the one who shine the most.

I think Dulorme has the most Charisma out of the bunch. Corley said some nice things about Delorme and Delorme was so taken back and truly appreciative of what Corley said about him. It was refreshing to see how humble…

To me it is a tough pick between Dulorme and Del Valle. Both are amazingly complete fighters at this point in their careers. Gonzalez is less complete but still solid. It really depends on the competition of their particular divisions…

Some solid prospects in recent time.I believe Dulorme is the more complete fighter out of all of them.And boasting an amateur recored of 142 wins with just 2 losess.
